give sample & logs, & in time they will look, no need to put pressure on them , they’re all incredibly generous helping all so be please be patient & appreciate thank you
Understand your points, but 3D remains alive in projectors (latest from Hisense, Valerion, NexiGo, and several others). I’ll post logs later today. And, just uploaded this 10 minute sample… playback should stop abruptly within 5 minutes (just let it play from the start).
So every test take 5min? It’s even more waste of time…
Seek doesn’t work?
No, seeking postpones the crashing. For every file (for me) the crash occurs within 3-20 min of continuous runtime, no matter where you start. But for one particular file, it is quite consistent, after how many minutes it crashes.
Hey hdmkv,
I can consistently reproduce the crash on my AM6B+, usually around when this Stonehead-Guy appears or shortly after :-).
One weird thing with your file is, that it seems to be choppy sometimes and there are grey bars left and right, where is seems something is wrong with the video file? Doesn’t matter for the crashing issue at hand and it is quite a good sample file, as it crashes very quickly compared to most of my videos. Do you also have these grey bars? Seems like one of the eyes is missing there, which I have not seen before in my own files. You only really notice the grey bars with glasses off.
Hmm, don’t know… it was a straight rip from the Japanese 3D Blu-ray, but w/ATMOS muxed in from the U.S. UHD. All I did was grab 10 mins using MKVMerge. How about this alternate 12-minute sample?

Tested 21.2 & nightlies on kinhank G1, it plays fine via nas/nfs but crashes played via USB plugged in. How are you playing your files & why not revert to last build that worked for you until they look into the logs.
With @Xenothar , can you also provide fresh logs for 21.2, is a really bizarre bcuz yours never worked from beginning even though we have similar tv-my c6 vs is e6.
Sure can do.
2nd run with debug turned on (Crash Log failed to upload, because it seems to be too big, so uploaded to Kodi pastebin directly):
I used the 12 minute sample from hdmkv (ducks).
Setup as usual: Ugoos AM6B+ with direct HDMI connection to LG E6 passive 4k 3D TV.
File was played from internal storage this time, but the behavior is the same as from SMB Share.
CE freshly updated to 21.2, no addons. Please check post 476 in this thread for a more comprehensive overview of what I tested so far.
@xmlcom: My suspicion is something between Kodi/CE and this particular Ugoos model, as I have two with the same issue and hdmkv also sees this issues, I don’t think its a hardware fault for that reason.
The Kinhank G1 is a quite different device. Different chipset, different Android base (if that matters) and so on. I also have only seen problems with the Ugoos AM6B(+) in this thead and others. Which is sad, as this box is pretty much perfect for DV FEL and so on.
Have Homatics & generic TOX3 S905X4 boxes ordered to test, so good to hear it’s working Kinhank G1 as it likely will on those. To @Xenothar’s point however, the AM6B+ was the best/perfect do-it-all local media player until this 3D issue.
3D is not dead in home cinema. 3D projectors have been around for years, but its current and future state is with VR. Not just because of Apple, but that did give it a much needed boost. But while VR works very well, it doesn’t help with CoreElec. So I hope there are some on here who can provide samples you need to help with troubleshooting.
It works flawlessly on Homatics R Plus (V14 1782), no issue whatsoever with that one
Yep @Enet, I’ve been hearing 3D is dead for several years now, yet it lives on… several projectors, Apple VR as you noted, and titles released in Japan and more coming from Turbine in Germany. Turbine’s ‘Mission: Impossible - Fallout’ is so good, especially the IMAX scenes in 3D, you won’t watch it any other way once you experience it (it’s a guarantee :D), even easily besting 4K w/DV.
Guardians of the Galaxy 3 (Japan), Bumblebee, Rise of the Beasts, MI Fallout are just a few of the 3D movies released this year
All this moaning around do nothing when nobody actually do really debug and/or try to fix it…
Any PR is welcome.
Any good 3D is easily besting anything in 2D DV
Not of you don’t have “stereo” vision.
We are not cyclops, so we all do have “stereo” vision
my right eye is not in good shape…
Hi @Portisch , latest nightlies now crash on rocktek g2. Thanks för your help.
