9.0.1 Discussion

I’m probably doing something wrong, but I cannot find the .kodi folder within the “Home Folder” folder when I’m trying to add a source. I’m only getting folders such as backup, downloads, emulators, logfiles, lost+found, music, picons, pictures, recordings, screenshots, tvshows, videos…

Kodi by default does not show hidden folders.

Thank you.
I’ve just discovered that my packages folder / source is… empty but it shows as 26 GB (on a 32GB SD card)…

This will most probably be thumbnails or some cached content.

I’ve also tried accessing it via FileZilla (ssh). It shows empty there, too.
So what seems strange to me is how a seemingly empty folder shows with a size of 26,32 GB on Kodi / CoreElec.

That refers to the remaining disk space left on the entire SD card. For every source you add that “belongs” to the sd card (i,e, userdata, storage, addons etc), they will all show the same remaining disk space left on sd card. It’s confusing but it’s a kodi thing.

Makes sense.
Thank you. I should probably have figured it out.

Did you refreshed CoreELEC repository?

I am trying to play back videos which are encoded H265. However I am only getting about 1 sec of video out of every 20 or so. Any ideas? It does play back without issue on my laptop.

Sounds like you have hardware decoding turned off.

No sample, no logs, can’t really help.

Hardware decoding should be turned on.

Are you seeing the same behavior?

Hi all
I’ve this pronblem with beelink gt1 ultimate and CoreElec 9.0.1 usin remote storage NFS.
I play a movie and after 10-20 minutes the system crash and crash my ADLS modem.
I need restart ADSL modem, but if I play the same movie on local USB stick I haven’t this problem.
I found on Kodi forum some people have same issue, the solution is disable remote access they say:
“Allow remote control from applications on this system” under “Services”
has to be turned off, otherwise Kodi 18 crashes after some seconds. This was definitely the fix / workaround!

This solution doesn’t resolve

New fresh install (clean emmc)

Setting the SSH password. Set it, press ok, then it asks you to change it again… and again etc…

I highly advice you to disable password support and setup authorized_keys instead, which is much more secure and way better as you don’t need to type in the password every time

SHH into your box, run nano .ssh/authorized_keys and copy your public key. If you don’t have any SSH keys, google how to make them

@Silent-Remux will look into this issue, thanks for reporting it.

My probles was on Linux server NFS, I’ve reinstalled it and now work fine
Thanks

Can I flag up what looks like a bug, ie the CoreELEC menu disappears from the Kodi Main Menu screen when I switch from the Estuary skin to Eminence 2 MOD.

This means that I have to return to Estuary in order to do backups. A minor problem, but as it did not occur with my previous LibreELEC installation, I presume this is a CoreELEC, rather than an Eminence issue.

I am running an Odroid C2 with a new clean install.

Cheers
