9.2.6 Discussion

I did a clean install of 9.2.6 (N2). Now there is no freezing of the video. Everything works perfectly. Although I have not restored the configuration completely yet.

Good that you tried it already, because I didn’t find something wrong in your logs.
So it possible some config or addon issue.

Hello,
during video playback, minor twitches occur at repetitive intervals. Log - http://ix.io/2QN2
I tried too 19 nightly - the same problem.

Looks like whitelist feature is not working correctly in this case and it use 60Hz instead of 23.976Hz

2021-02-25 09:17:06.996 T:4064755728 NOTICE: Whitelist search for: width: 1920, height: 1080, fps: 23.976, 3D: false

Try to switch off whitelist

Does this video work correctly on 9.2.5 with whitelist enabled?

Hi and thanks a lot for the great work devs!

I’ve updated from 9.2.5 on an ODroid N2+ and I’m having issues playing videos: the sound goes on and off, the video stutter and, finally, kodi freezes completely (need to restart it using ssh)
Here are the logs (no whitelist, 1080p, 23.98hz) :
kodi.log: http://ix.io/2QNr (couldn’t use the GUI way so did “cat .kodi/temp/kodi.log | paste”)
dmesg: http://ix.io/2QNq

I also tried with whitelist ans 60hz: http://ix.io/2QNu

The same file reads fine on 9.2.5.
I’ll try with a clean install to see if it helps and report back.

Please collect this logs for more details

After that please downgrade and upgrade again and if all works collect new logs to compare

Thanks for your help, I can’t collect the log using kodi GUI as it completely crashes, I’ll try to collect all the logs using ssh and report back.

I did a clean install (on another usb key) and the file reads fine, here is the log: http://ix.io/2QNF

If it’s a configuration issue, is there a way to pinpoint it so I don’t have to start my config from scratch?

Just try to downgrade to 9.2.5 and upgrade to 9.2.6 again first

What does “Fixed CEC driver (Amlogic-NG)” mean? (pointer to commit welcome)

9.2.6 - whitelist off - video o.k.
9.2.5 - whitelist off - video o.k.
9.2.5 - whitelist on - video not o.k.

Did it a few time already, just tried it again, same results.

Is there a command (or script) to get the same debug info from CLI ?

ce-debug
this part is for absent configs

Can I use any command to get information about a whitelist problem?

Please also collect ce-debug output for current 9.2.6
Also please try clean 9.2.6 on different usb/sd card, enable whitelist and confirm if it’s working correctly or not.
If not then we will check later that could be the reason…
If it’s working correctly then please also collect ce-debug to check that could be different.

9.2.6 - whitelist off - video o.k.
9.2.5 - whitelist off - video o.k.
9.2.5 - whitelist on - video not o.k.

And here I don’t understand if you have the same issue in 9.2.5 with whitelist on or not?

9.2.5 with whitelist - the same problem.
ce-debug - enter into putty?

if it’s the same in 9.2.5 then it’s kodi bug…
yes, command in putty, but unlikely it helps us in case it present in 9.2.5 too

My Magicsee N5 plus (s905x2) auto-upgraded on the wife today and the TV remote (CEC) stopped working. I found the original remote and downgraded to 9.2.5 to get her up and running again. What do I need to do to debug this I will upgrade later when the TV s not in use to find out what is happening.

Exactly the same problem with my SX905X board. Sound dissapeared then video freezed. I tried videos from SMB source and streams from youtube, with same results.

Anyone can give me a hint how to return to previous version?

Edit: I found it, in CoreELEC settings: disable Auto update, then choose Update Channel

Anyone with T95 MAX Plus S905X3 with successful update ?
