will the dependencies (e.g. inputstream-adaptive, required for e.g. youtube) be updated automatically or do i have to update the complete system with the .tar?
TVheadend client seems to have been impacted.
I was able to use the curl zip file and it is working fine with pvr.nextpvr so there is not a general issue with PVR on the current build.
Of note I first used my test curl line to get the zip (which was just a head) and a bad zip crashes Kodi, I will need to check on other platforms. Here it was

@Portisch whatever you guys did in 20251016. Eventually did good it stoped changing picture quality after power cycle for me and playback is more smoother than before. NG and NO both atmos surround effects are similar in these builds
Only a bit of problem black color in HDR rips iso. sometimes resolved by stop movie and play again.
@vpeter tone mapping is different in 1016 ng and no. No tend to be better and smoother and dv detail is also better. In ng some hdr rips stutter and black looks messed up but not in all hdr as well as couple of dv movies also show black as grey.
I think all addons should now be available with image 20251017 and later.

Hmmmmmm, Tested with Tone map SDR to Dolby Vision, and in original format SDR,155 frame skips in 30 secs,no frame dropsā¦
I donāt really see any choppy ,maybe is all those skipped frameā¦
In the end ,not exactly great ,but it is watchable!!
tete, restart CE device and addons will be updated.
in last update NO & amb6+ = HLG not work!
and HDR work
thanks that made it
Lol, that means itās skipping 22% of the frames!! Call me fussy, but thatās not watchable for me. Hurts my brain!
Lol
I was being nice ,considering you posted that you have alot of these ā¦.and to reobtainā¦

@Portisch - I am having one last attempt to resolve the PCM 5.0 mapping issue which @boxr4k and I are having on CE-NO, before it finally moves to candidate release status from alpha.
I have classical and jazz recordings on SACD which are in 5.0 format. The speaker positions which should be used are FL, FC, FR, RL and RR. When played back from SACD player my 5.1 system plays back correctly - all satellite speakers are used and the LFE remains silent.
The digital rip of the same track, which has been compressed as a FLAC file, does not play back correctly in CE-NO. The log shows that 5 channels have been identified (FL, FR, FC, SL and SR) and the Sony AVR displays that a 5.0 signal has been received. However, the actual sound channels being used are FL, FR, FC and LFE. SL and SR (or RL and RR) are mute.
Here is the log snip:

I think what is happening is that the number of speakers (correct at 5) is being matched in the table to the first 5 speaker layout (0x07 - 4.1) which is FL, FR, FC, LFE, and RC. This is wrong and results in a silent RR and RL output. I believe what should be mapped is a subsequent 5 speaker layout (0x0a - AE_CH_LAYOUT_5_0) which is FL, FR, FC, RR and RL.
On CE-NG the channel mapping process seems to be different in that the number of speaker mapping options is significantly reduced. The log shows that the number of channels identified is 6 and the channel layout is FL, FR, FC, LFE, SL and SR. It displays on the AVR as 5.1. This layout is technically wrong but it sounds ok as all the satellite speakers FL, FR, FC, RL and RR are carrying audio. So is the LFE, but that is at a low level and doesnāt affect the sound quality unduly.

This layout mostly works on CE-NG because the audio mapping options are limited:
static struct channel_speaker_allocation channel_allocations[] = {
/* channel: 7 6 5 4 3 2 1 0 */
{ .channels = 2, .speakers = { NL, NL, NL, NL, NL, NL, FR, FL } },
/* 3.1 CEA 0x03 */
{ .channels = 4, .speakers = { NL, NL, NL, NL, FC, LFE, FR, FL } },
/* surround51 CEA 0x0b */
{ .channels = 6, .speakers = { NL, NL, RR, RL, FC, LFE, FR, FL } },
/* surround71 CEA 0x13 */
{ .channels = 8, .speakers = { RRC, RLC, RR, RL, FC, LFE, FR, FL } },
};
static void dump_pcm_setting(struct pcm_setting *setting)
A 6 channel identification results in a mapping of (0x0b - surround51 CEA) which is FL, FR, FC, LFE, RL, RR. All the channels in the music are mapped to a speaker plus the LFE.
As @boxr4k had suggested back in July, is there any chance of an NO build using a mapping table which would result in the most common 5 speaker mapping (0x0a - AE_CH_LAYOUT_5_0) being placed first in the list?

I have a MECOOL M8S box with an s905x2 processor, using the g12a_s905x2_2g.dtb file. With the latest nightly build 20252018, it starts up but gets stuck on the CE NO splash screen.
Here is the output of the dmesg command: https://paste.coreelec.org/NessaLaser
What other information should I provide? Kodi doesnāt produce any logs.
I am not sure if the mapping is taken from what you did set in audio options or by the media.
The audio setup must match the real used audio hardware.
You will need to share a short sample as 5 channel audio is very rare.
I think itās maybe related to the libMali changes happen last builds.
Maybe last working one is 20251013?
My audio options are set in Kodi as 5.1 (HDMI Multich PCM) with passthrough of DD/DTS options on HDMI. My AVR handles all DD/DTS variants available in the Kodi settings. Not relevant for FLAC music CD/SACD formats, though. So, I assume the media determines (or should determine!) the actual speaker mapping. 5.0 audio is not at all rare on physical SACD media , particularly for classical or jazz music. Iāve uploaded a track (89MB) to my google drive here - Vivaldi flute concerto
I checked on version dated 20251010, but I couldnāt find version 20251013. Same result, frozen CE NO logo on the screen.
Dmesg: https://paste.coreelec.org/GoliathBrawl
Even worse, the system restarts after issuing a command, e.g. ls.
Could this line have anything to do with the problem?
