Amlogic-NO discussion

That problem is still present for me;

Also, there has been no Wi-Fi connection for a month now, since the start of CoreELEC.

I use the GT-King S922X 4GB

cec.

me too

First question, where did the 13.04 come from? You’re not mixing up LibreELEC with Core are you?

I don’t see 13 anything on CE, guess I could have missed it.

All 3 of these things lead to a HDMI handshake issue, where devices were not interrogated at boot time and therefor settings are reset to default because Kodi thinks it’s a new device.

More HDMI/mode issues perhaps?

What display do you have and what else do you have connected in your HDMI chain?

Are you using a quality HDMI cable?

BTW, I am seeing the same random reboots on nightlies amlogic-no on Khadas Kvim3 as well.

having random reboots here as well. on the latest no nightly. gt king pro 4gb

Coreelec is from CoreELEC nightly builds

CoreELEC-Amlogic-no.aarch64-22.0-Piers_nightly_20260413

If this is the case then I wish there was an option we could activate to ignore this behavior.

In regards of HDMI, tv box is connected directly to my 65ā€ Samsung RU7402, and about cable, dont know what to tell you, same setup works just fine using CE21.

There was an EDID override in NG, don’t know how to achieve that in NO.

Directly connected is good, I would suggest spending on a higher end cable just to see how it does, maybe a Zeskit Maya if I were to recommend one.

I don’t know what’s changed regarding this between the 2 versions.

This maybe has something to do with issues I am having with HDMI sound grabbing the output away from my USB-sound card. It started happening out of the blue around a fortnight ago and the dmesg logs indicate that HDMI is causing the switch.

To be frank Kodi and CE have become a lot more unstable of late in my use case.

Could be, maybe something one of the devs can look at.

Perhaps there’s been something changed in polling frequency or power management within the code….

Hopefully it’s not upstream changes, I haven’t noticed any CEC PRs lately.

I suspect its changes in Kodi rather than LE or CE.

I previously wrote here about having some issues using Wi-Fi in CE on a Dune Pro Vision 4K. Then I bought a Wi-Fi-to-ethernet bridge, and now, instead of 12-16 MB/s, I’m getting a super-stable 47 MB/s. I haven’t encountered any buffering issues while viewing large files.
But I still have some issues. I have some drops in 05_Network.log for eth0:

      RX packets:27107266 errors:0 dropped:46497 overruns:0 frame:0
      TX packets:10316784 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0
      collisions:0 txqueuelen:1000
      RX bytes:37692755549 (35.1 GiB) TX bytes:12473871115 (11.6 GiB)
      Interrupt:40

Or is this ok?

Another problem. Sometimes, when opening a file, it simply freezes with ā€œunix_err: ā€˜6e’ error: ā€˜Connection timed outā€™ā€ in the log. It’s not common, maybe 1 file out of 20. It’s not a settings or file issue, as the same file plays perfectly after a pseudo-sleep (pkill -STOP/pkill -CONT). Also, during this bug, Kodi for some reason tries to open a bunch (but not all) of the files from the same folder and subfolders, which I didn’t even ask for, and the interface just freezes. Here’s the log. As always, I’m not sure whether this is a Kodi 22 or CoreELEC issue.

log

Sometimes the behavior is slightly different: the interface doesn’t freeze, the Kodi circle just spins, then simply stops trying to open the file. The log shows the same error. This happens with any file until I pseudo-sleep, after which everything works.

The issue isn’t with the router and SMB, as no other device (including Kodi 21 on Google Chromecast) has this issue. The minimum SMB version in the settings is SMBv3, as is the maximum.

Well, the two latest nightly builds (20260414 and 20260416) makes the UI (in 4k) or any 4k playback appears in the left corner of the screen, about a quarter of the screen, while the boot logo still is on the background.

Similar issue was seeing in NE few months ago.

I have a Homatics Box R 4k Plus here.

Downgrading to the 20260413 resolves the issue for me.

Turning ā€œDisable GUI Scalingā€ to on is fixing the issue on my Homatics box. I have latest nightly installed.

I’m getting ā€œNo signalā€ on my TV when playing 4k DV movies on the two latest releases, 20260418 and 20260416.

I downgraded to CoreELEC-Amlogic-no.aarch64-22.0-Piers_nightly_20260414.tar and now they’re working.

ā€œDisable GUI Scalingā€ works but gives some weird video glitches when starting a video.
Back to 20260413 and all is fine.

I’m sorry to hear that and I assume u also using a Homatics R 4K plus.
I’ve just done some tests with all kind of videos with all kind of resolutions, they all playing fine.
I’m using the default skin with having Kodi settings 99% as default apart from the GUI resolution and the turned on ā€œDisable GUI scalingā€

@ I’ve the latest ATV FW installed

You both realize that changing the GUI resolution doesn’t change the skin’s rendered resolution.

Unless defined in the skin it’s going to render the skin at 1080p, the GUI scale only stretches the GUI to 4K.

If you want to actually render at 4K you need to add that resolution to the addon.xml

Otherwise all you’re doing is making it work harder with no actual improvement in size or quality.

Running a Odroid N2+ rev 0.5 4gb

I have been getting kernel panics since 04102026 Nightly to the the current one.

Below is a log

https://paste.coreelec.org/CoachedVigilant

I’m using Estuary MOD V2.

As @gjstroom says, disabling the gui scaling gives some weird glitchles when you playback and the OSD starts to loose sync and moves.

May be a patch but not a fix.

Same issue here with N2, N2+.
Logs look the same. Previous kernel does not have these panics.
