Update to 0111 went flawless on my 4gb N2 rev a. Nice.
With Odroid N2 rev.C everything is fine with 20250111 nightly.
I have ng nightly on emmc and on usb NO nightly with latest petitboot. All worked fine and now after updating NO to 20250111 it will not boot. Petitboot gives error invalid 2nd device tree
This is on odroid n2+ rev c according to kodi system info.
Which version of Petitboot do you have?
Petitboot 20231220
Did you try to boot without Petitboot, with removed eMMC in any other USB port?
When I had USB boot problems I had to remove all devices from N2 to successfully boot from USB stick.
I had this setup since that petitboot released. So more than a year, its unlikely that usb is acting up now. I will do as you suggested and try without emmc and without petitboot
Unfortunately I cannot help you more since my N2 is rev-a, and some difference between rev-a & rev-c seems to affect this behavior.
A bit of a novice with how to collect and report logs, I hope I did it alright
N2 (rev0.4 says on the board), using SDCard boot (no mmc).
Latest nightly. Using Netflix plugin, plays well, though when using skip, it hangs, I can see in the debug the fps is running, screen froze. When pressed any key (remote CEC), it completely froze and I had to hard plug.
It doesnāt happen with 4K or 4KHDR, 1080p x264 or x265 files.
Many thanks for everyoneās help!!
Issue with 4K videos using the VP9 codec on S905x4 latest nightly Amlogic-no.aarch64-22.0-Piers_nightly_20250111 (edit: Just for clarity - I do not remember if it worked someday on NO 22). The video freezes while the audio continues playing:
This 1080p video is ok:
- VP9 1080p SDR: https://test-videos.co.uk/vids/bigbuckbunny/webm/vp9/1080/Big_Buck_Bunny_1080_10s_30MB.webm
I have tried few youtube videos using MPEG-DASH with same problem with VP9.
log-2025-01-11-13.11.55.zip (684.1 KB)
p.s.: The debug log upload from coreelec:debuglogs [CoreELEC Wiki] do not work - an error is reported
I have the same problems on my s4_905w2 box with vp9 codec on yt. Video freezes, sound works. However, the av1 codec does not work either.
Log: https://paste.coreelec.org/SparkSouffle
Just tried my samples, one of your samples and YouTube forcing VP9 and have a smooth playback in S905X4
VP9 movies on Netflix also have a problem.
Thatās sw decoded and probably problems with our inputstream adaptive (if itās working on another platforms)
Edit - just tried it and itās working on my GT king II. Iāll update widevine to see if it brings any problem.
on N2 I have no sound, no video - I couldnāt even reboot via ssh. Only unplug / plug.
When rebooted I had a strange state - no network (disabled) and no CEC. After another reboot, the network came back, CEC not working. Maybe I should have restarted my tv as well.
Donāt know if related
If I leave the video to play (netflix) it plays well, no skip frames etc.
Once I skip, it freezes (I left it for a minute or two) and then I had to unplug it.
added some logs in my previous post, not sure if I have captured well
Thanks!
btw Netflix on N2/NG works alright, but I think there is a known issue with when pausing or skip, the image is stuttering and frames are skipped - as EOL, I didnāt bother to report on the NG side
I canāt get the IR remote wake to work on my Vontar x3.
Iāve tried the 2 types of config (NEC and Meson) both work but I canāt wake it. (WOL also not working) But IR wake is working on my Vontar x4.
Iām also having Stuttering playback when subtitles enabled on the x4 and the video freezing issues with YouTube when the codec is vp9.
Since i did have problem with my sdcard on my A95X (s905x3) box, i decided to reformat my card and give NO try, after install and restore of plugins config for most things its stable, but i did have couple of GUI frezze, and restartās. But biggest problem that i have is that after i rescan my NAS for movies not all posters get pick up. I heve all .nfo files and jpegās stored local inside of move folders, so i dont know what is problem. All of this is setup long time ago (from time when xbmc was thing), and new stuff is added a long the way to the nas
Ps
Tool that i use to create files is Media Companion
Ive had issues with some plugins/addons, streaming (inputstream adaptive etc. )
What I am trying now when I have time is a clean install and adding addons only one at a time but NOT from a backup. There are issues but I think some addon writers have not updated for latest Kodi changes yet.
New problem that i notice is when subtitles are enable video bocome choppy, but when thay are disable plays fine, no matter is video FHD or 4K.
On the brighter side HDR10+ (at least my samsung tv say that) works
Edit:
Going back in history of this thread i see that i reported this already back in April of 2024, and that this in know problem, i forget that since i went back to CE21, and i think ill do same once again, and give it another go in couple of months
This is indeed still an issue, for me especially with 23.976 Hz content.25/50 Hz content strangely enough do not show the stuttering issue with active subs
