The 202502225 Nightly is not good for HDR. The picture is completely striped.
(It works in 20250216, the picture is good)
Can’t anyone link 20250216 generic img.gz? I can’t find it anywhere. Thank you.
https://archive.coreelec.org/Amlogic-no/CE-22/20250218/
but it is only the xxx.tar file. Can be put into update folder and reboot. Might work?
Ive given up at the moment and gone back to NG temporarily so we can watch content
Yes, it works perfectly! Download the tar file, put it in .update
directory and reboot, CE will downgrade. BTW, the version without glitches is 20250216 and not 20250218. The latter is when the glitches started to appear.
Played around a bit. Using Player Process Info.
Issue is with 12 bit yyv420. 444 files play ok atm.
Go to Index of /Amlogic-no/CE-22/20250216/ and download the tar file then put in .update
directory.
If you want to simulate a fresh install without destroying your current configuration, here’s the procedure
- ssh to your CE-NO box
- Issue the following commands
$ systemctl stop kodi
$ mv .kodi .kodi-backup
$ reboot
Upon reboot, CE-NO will downgrade itself and Kodi will create a fresh profile in .kodi
while your old profile is still available at .kodi-backup
.
20250218 or later only have the video glitches as demonstrated by @bazzle in Post #1528
The GUI scaling problem (ie: too small) disappeared in 20250216 and currently this is the only release that works perfectly for me at least.
Can you check this?
All files with glitches are DV P5.9, P7.9 and P8.10 and they’re all 10 bit YUV 420.
I dont have DV, Playing perfect on 2016.
No good after then on my Tox3 s905x4 12 bit yuv420. 444 files play ok atm on later versions.
With tomorrow nightly 20250301 the GUI scaling is back.
So if you see such picture distortions on 4k media playback use GUI scaling!
Included in the NO nightlies since 20250301 is the use of VS10 to allow tonemapping the output of non DV files to DV. You can choose to enable SDR->DV and/or HDR->DV in System/CoreELEC
Is HDR10+ also in works, because that is for LG users the problematic format?
Yes it is.
It is there now in settings
Using NO Nightly 2025/02/27
Testing currently…
My 2019 samsung tv detect hdr10+ (at least tv say that) from the moment i switch to NO.
For you that irrelevant setting.
Thankyou All seems to be playing ok atm in NO…
If you could add the fix to NE as well it would be most appreciated
The Dolby Vision VS Engine is now included since 20250302.
I have tested the latest NO, specifically to see if the Netflix Add-on is working fine, but having the same behaviour.
Skip causes the device to halt, only unplug solves it. Seems something to do with inputstream and the V9 codec.
Just checking if others are having the same issues, or just me?
I didn’t do a clean install, upgraded from older nightly.
Thanks!
I have N24G btw
Hello:
Bringing back GUI Scaling on 20250302 caused an odd behavior on my HK1RBOX X4 while using 4k GUI resolution, same issue after rebooting.
-
4k res while GUI Scaling is disabled makes the GUI look small & splitted.
-
4k res while GUI Scaling is enabled makes the GUI look zoomed in.
Regards!
