On the latest nightly build 20250304 my box with s905x2 processor goes into bootloop on vendor screen. Until version 20250302 it worked properly using g12a_s905x2_2g.dtb .

Welcome back. Last few nightlyâs DV plays back fine but when I stop the file Kodi returns to just a black screen. Kodi is still running and I can press play the file restarts and plays fine but again stopping just results in a black screen and I have to reboot my box to get the display back. HDR and HDR10+ work fine, itâs just DV files.
Tomorrow nightly should be more stable with DV and DV VS engine and HDR10+. HDR10+ content is not touched anymore when display can handle this format. It will lead only in a loss of quality as the dynamic data must be dropped for DV. Only HDR10 will be converted to DV or HDR10+ if the display can not handle it as it will fallback to HDR10 anyway.

Yes have had this problem on my fresh install generic S905X4 device. Netflix Addon used to work fine until a couple of months ago, it still plays fine if you dont do anything. But freezes completely if skip forward or backward is selected. Even the "skip intro` in the start of a show, if selected causes CE to freeze up. running latest nightly, seem to be getting updated every day almost now for the last week. CE Team has been busy churning out CE-NO_updates

Yes, agree. without doppingkoala dymamic metadata handling solution, the hdr10+ to dv not useable. But with that solution have better picture when in dv mode. Maybe @doppingkoala can help to implement that to NO.
HDR10+ is the competitor of DV.
It just makes no sense to convert.
Or do you paint your Opel red to become a Ferrari?

If your tv not support hdr10+, like lgâs or the avr has no passtrough that format, as my onkyo, then its would be good solution. But was just maybe one wrong idea. sry

Yes, Iâd also like to, but LG Oled with HDR10+ support does not exist.

Yes, tried some hdr10+ files, no problems. Also DV VS engine works stable and the problem of those weird colours of previous nightly has been eliminatedâŠ
Unfortunately the latest nightly doesnât fix the problem Iâm having with DV files returning to a black screen in Kodi when stopped.
I have figured out that nightly 0302 works perfectly but the next nightly 0304 and onwards causes this problem.
It also only happens with DV files that also contain HDR10+
This file has the problem, it plays fine in DV but when you stop Kodi just shows a black screen.
HDR format: Dolby Vision, Version 1.0, dvhe.08.06, BL+RPU, HDR10 compatible / SMPTE ST 2094 App 4, Version 1, HDR10+ Profile B compatible
This file works fine, it plays and when you stop it Kodi returns to the correct resolution and is fine.
HDR format: Dolby Vision, Version 1.0, dvhe.05.06, BL+RPU
This also works fine.
HDR format: Dolby Vision, Version 1.0, dvhe.08.06, BL+RPU, HDR10 compatible / SMPTE ST 2086, HDR10 compatible
So to summarize, it only happens with files that contain DV and HDR10+ and it started happening with the 0304 nightly.

Itâs HDR10 and DV.
HDR10+ is the competitor to DV.
VC1 files do not play properly. They play stuttering. Tried all possible setting combinations.
