Amlogic-NO discussion

Same missing “super” for me. Restored to previous nightly fixed it for me. I see you’ve done all the log stuff so thanks for being the first.

Please boot a nightly before 20.3.2025 and then share your video firmware by:
cp /vendor/lib/firmware/video/video_ucode.bin /storage/backup/video_ucode.bin && sync
Then you have the firmware in the CE backup folder!

Off Tpoic:
Ive found both of my Tox3 boxes gave me that Super partion error after TOX3’s did an update.
I updated Android version that reinstated partition using Slimbox OS.
No issues with CE after that. Found it on a recommendation on the Kodi and Reddit forums.

video_ucode.rar (104.3 KB)

I used the same video sample provided by @roidy above in his link (thanks @roidy) Amlogic-no Discussion - #1606 by roidy

Updated to the latest nightly and tried playing that file without success. Here is the log

I too had the same ‘super’ partition error using the latest nightly

The super partition error should be solved again with tomorrow nightly.

Still does on S905X4 (sample of the Eagles with 29.97 refreshrate). Sound is just fine, video in slow motion. This with revision D of the Homatics R Plus (RoseGold), revision B (Silver one), could play it better maybe, didn’t check.

Just making the remark, I only have VC-1 as samples, no complete movies. As Sei Robotics/AmLogic removed support for the VC-1 codec for Android TV, I just don’t collect VC-1 media.

I updated to version 20250319 and it solved the problem with the super partition. Below is the log of when I press to suspend tox3 and when I turn the TV back on it restarts instead of returning from suspension!
log-2025-03-20-12.01.01.zip (1.3 MB)
I believe it has to do with kernel, as this suspension only works 100% in kernel 5.4.210.
Thanks for the work and support of the boxes!

It’s only possible to see the reason by a UART log.
I am sure there happen a kernel oops on shutdown what cause the reboot.

The 0319 nightly with the bluez 5.80 update has broken my G10 bluetooth remote.

I know the G10 remotes have never reconnected when powering on the box from cold but you could always hold the back and home on the remote for a few seconds and it would connect. With the bluez update the only way to reconnect the remote is to now plug in a keyboard or some other input device and goto the CoreELEC addon → Bluetooth select the G10 remote and press connect from the menu, which is extremely annoying.

Tomorrow this issue should be gone again.
It’s still recommended to use recent Android firmware on the used device.
This is because the bootloader must include some security update what makes it possible to use newest video firmware.
So if any video playback issues do happen try first to update Android to the latest available version.

Tomorrow also VC-1, WVC1 and WMV3 should finally work in hardware. Tested on G12B, SC2, T7 and S5. The VC-1 hardware decoder was fixed after SC2.

I saw the update of bluez by LE and was just waiting what it will break…
Bluetooth is a mess.
You need to compare old and new version and report directly here:

Don’t expect to much help with > 500 open issues…

So unless bluez 5.80 fixes some other major issues or problems wouldn’t it be better to just not update it?

Tell this LE, make there the issue.

I’m confused… I don’t use LE I use CE. Why does CE have to update a package if LE updates it. Not being a dick, I’m genuinely asking a question.

Because we are only a fork of LE we can’t fix it.
LE break it. Why we should waste time for something others do break?

Best is to report to source. Then someday the fix comes ages later to our fork.

When CE would be a commercial product it would be correct to report here. But as it’s open source…

Try reading back in this thread. You are a bit late to the party.

I have downloaded the latest nightly (21 Mar 25) and did a fresh install on uSD card for my HK1 RBox S905X4 , but then used my day old back-up to restore my settings.

I tried to play some AV1 files. There was sound but no video. Here is a link to a sample

My debug log file is here
https://paste.coreelec.org/NuggetHacking

A bit of additional information - the AV1 sample file that I used earlier was displayed correctly. I should have provided a sample from my own sources which is more problematic, apologies for this second run around
