Amlogic-no Discussion

I dont see a way to modify VC-1 in 22 release under settings.
Has it been removed?

Sadly 23 wont open for me?
Am I alone?

Baz

The problem is that on X4 and W2, the CE21 64bit is not good passthrough, often no sound. This way, one of the CE will not be a good choice for those boxes.

For me too, I’m only able to use CE-NE 22 EOL December on a daily basis, I’m using CE-NO for testing only.
For me, CE NE 21 is already out of the question.

Hello,
I don’t know if i am on the right place here, here is my question.
Is anyone having keyboard issues (K400 + wired Logitech old (enter key doesn’t work in playback + …+… press enter and it is advance subtitles on…+etc) on Odroid N2/4gb with Amlogic-no CE multiple versions since January 2025?
Version 21.2 has no issues except for the subtitle size not found!!
Sorry for not sending you a log, I have no idea how to do it.
Thanks

I don’t think it’s needed anymore. My VC-1 videos are playing extremely well right now for me.

Should have my SK1 shortly… go w/NO stable or latest nightly? Thanks.

There is no NO stable yet

Oops, meant NE (CoreELEC-Amlogic-ne.aarch64-21.2-Omega-Generic.img).

Which version is recommended for SK1 with DV (MEL only I know) working? And AV1, as well as older formats VC-1 & MPEG2 working? Thanks.

I am using my Dune HD Pro 8k Plus instead of my SK1, and running NE. Uses the SK1 device tree. Was thinking about updating to NO, but not sure there is a dovi.ko for the NO version.

??? Did you enable Settings level: Expert in Player/Settings? See here, all is explained: Settings/Player/Subtitles

Thank you for Your answer
Yes, with every new installation on SD card, it’s the first thing I do: select expert mode. I’ve now installed Nexus 20.5 and no problem. It’s really very strange because I’ve been using 21.2 since its release, and the ā€œsubtitle sizeā€ line was present, then disappeared. I’ll try again with another SD card later.
For the other issue on Omega No. 22, where the ā€œenterā€ key doesn’t work with the keyboard, that’s crazy, the trackpad works.
PS: On 20.5 and 21.2, the keyboard works perfectly.
I’m surprised not to see any messages about this; but hey, I’ll try it in a future nightly update to see.
Thanks

How do I read the link?
I cant read the reply :frowning:

No entries

I used it in Tox3.
Pop up when you 1st load says found version 3.49. Please update.
I have updated to latest from xxx and in Android side of box its says Kernel version 5.4.125. Is that what I need?

Apologies for confusion

Ran the command on Tanix Box again, and output was SoC is lower than SC2 tee is not needed/used…

When i first ran command on Hk1x4 rbox S905X4
The return was no entries

This was because ,for Android Base on internal i was using Hybrid Elec 7ji Triple Boot.

I flashed old G-Box Rom for Hk1x4 rbox AH212
Now command returns u-code

Anyone using NO as a daily driver? I was under the impression this is for the die hards who love testing.

I use an N2+ and tried NO about 6 months ago with limited success when it came to hardware decoding and passthrough of high-res audio. Just yesterday I flashed a clean uSD install of NO nightly and it seems that little has changed for me with the N2 at least. My FLAC rips of my CD/SACD/DVD-Audio collection mostly play back OK, including multichannel audio up to 192kHz 24bit, except for a few outlier SACDs containing 5.0 audio which show as 4.1 audio and the channel mapping is wrong. My DVD and Blu-ray rips up to 1080p work ok but I still can’t seem to play back DTS-HD MA audio. So, it’s back to the NG build using the Amlogic 4.9 kernel for me, I’m afraid.

Daily goes a bit far, but I use NO now as CE version. But that is just an installation on a USB drive, so it is easy to switch to another one with different CE build on it.

I am running no on all daily drivers without any issues. I think it’s actually pretty reliable at this stage Using N2(+). I must add I am not using any of the DV, FEL or multi channel stuff so can’t speak for those aspects.
(Patiently waiting on WOL to be reintroduced but that’s no dealbreaker as I usually keep all running 24/7 and if needed I can use ir power button to start it up from power off.).
Oh, and I gave up on DVD/iso playback as that hasn’t worked after Kodi 19 and also not really an issue for me.
