I want to switch to a new device, but I can’t. I want to upgrade to an image with a new kernel, but it doesn’t work.
Because the 2 TBS Tuners I have are not working.
One is 5980 and the other is 5990.
When these work, I will use the new kernel and image.
Or I will continue like this until the device I am currently using breaks down.

I prepared drivers for the rest of the newer TBS USB tuners - 5930, 5930 lite, 5530, 5230. This is it for now.

So further to my last post (which was never answered…), can anyone explain why you would run -no on a device running -ng or -ne that is happily chugging along? Is it purely just for people obsessed with running a newer Linux kernel? Any benefits to playback?

Ok - I ran tests on the latest nightly (installed on a microSD card - I have the NG version installed in the emc memory). Kodi clean, only hyperion settings restored from the copy. On Disney+ - the lights work. On Netflix - no. No image preview. What’s interesting - on the hyperion website it doesn’t show me the Kodi desktop preview or the highlight in the Kodi menu

Maybe you bring issue with it - why not try completelly fresh?
Ok, I turned off Kodi, deleted hyperion data, restarted coreelec, re-entered the LED/Ambilight settings, etc. manually. The effect is exactly the same - there is no highlighting or preview in the Kodi and Netflix menus

If you have a problem with our Tuner (Sundtek) maybe you can sign on in the sundtek forum or join the chat explain your problem and wait some time until someone of our Team will see it so we can have a look at what’s wrong with your system.

Compile errors that I was not able to solve. This is my effort to add 5990 if anyone else want to try.
I use the Sundtek Tuner Dual S2 and MediaTV Pro III
Addon Sundtek Media TV is installed
The Dual S2 Tuner was found by the Sundtek Addon but dont work with Tvheadend
The MediaTV Pro III Tuner was not found in Media TV
5990 compile errors solved but I’m not sure if I would PR this. Too many untested changes to the existing cx231xx driver and it may introduce breakage.
Will look into 5980 later.
if you could provide a remote shell to that system I might have a look at it.
