AV sound is working on coreelec ?

understood - thank you. can anybody confirm there is problem with bluetooth audio? it is like the sound vibrates or lags like when you quickly switch the speaker on and off over and over and it is unable to understand. for me only HDMI sound works.

Hey guys, does anyone know if the S96 Max Plus S905X3 4/32 can passtrough lossles codecs like Dolby TrueHD + Atmos using CoreElec? Or only Dolby Digital Plus? I know the box with stock software is unable to stream TrueHD.

Yes, all S905X3 devices supported by CoreELEC have support for passthrough of Dolby TrueHD Atmos, DD+ etc.

Itā€™s working now on nightly ng builds. I have a Vontar X3 S905X3 rev c. Audio out is via 3.5mm AV socket to soundbar and all is great. I did check with the stable ng build but that didnā€™t work, so you do need a nightly. Iā€™m using CoreELEC-Amlogic-ng.arm-9.2-nightly_20200506-Generic.img but I think 202000503 worked as well.
Actually if you follow the guide for " How to configure IR remote control" and then How to configure IR wakeup code
and use hk1-x3-vfd.conf for vfd then everything works really nicely. The microSD slot read/write speed is pitifully bad even with microSD Class 10 A1, actually unusable as everything in the UI stutters & lags, but the USB 3.0 port with a good USB 3.0 stick is fine. Iā€™m using a Sandisk Ultra Fit 32GB. I get about 1/3 its rated performance on the Vontar but itā€™s enough.

I got the box yesterday morning and we had a good hard fight. Now it is compliant :innocent:

Hi @julian67,

Thanks for the information, will try this weekend :+1: :grinning:

Remote works fine with standard NEC remote conf file, but thanks
Iā€™m using USB-stick on USB 2.0 port which works nice, not tried SD card
Also made vfd working from the start, so a happy bunny over here.
On this moment I own 3 different Amlogic boxes (X96, H96Max and X96Max Plus) all working CE 9.2 and no major issues.

I will let you know if upgrading to nightly 20200506 makes my 3.5 mm AV work.

Many thanks

Koos

Hi @julian67

The 20200506 nightly works :tada:  :+1:
Not yet in combination with HDMI but I can listen to my internetradio now without TV :+1:

Thanks :ok_hand:

Iā€™m on nightly of 20200509. I switched mine to HDMI audio out and that works fine too, with output set to ALSA:AML-AUGESOUND, HDMI (I donā€™t need the multichannel but it does also work).

Guys it seems the bluetooth audio is still lagging after a fresh install.

but after I set the audio output from ALSA default to Pulse Default bluetooth audio the sound lags continuously. This problem is only in 905X3 box itworks on my 905 box with the same 9.2.2. On my 905 box has no built in BT so I use a dongle. I tried all the audio settings but no success. Any ideas?

Okay. I have inserted the dongle to 905X3 and shut down the built-in one. The audio works perfectly with the dongle so it seems the hardware support lacks. But cannot edit /etc/bluetooth to constantly disable the built-in one.

The UART device is (the one does not work:)
HCI Version: 4.2 (0x8) Revision: 0xaa89
LMP Version: 4.2 (0x8) Subversion: 0x7e1c
Manufacturer: Realtek Semiconductor Corporation (93)

And the dongle is (working one):
HCI Version: 4.0 (0x6) Revision: 0x22bb
LMP Version: 4.0 (0x6) Subversion: 0x22bb
Manufacturer: Cambridge Silicon Radio (10)

Assuming the Realtek device has a discrete driver, the easiest way is probably to blacklist the module. This should be close enough directions to get you there. https://linuxconfig.org/how-to-blacklist-a-module-on-ubuntu-debian-linux

Thanks lad, I just found my other btusb  yep blacklisting hci_uart is a working solution (exactly what I did) but sure will be better to use the built-in bt if this box has

thanks!

Hi All,

Hope you all well n safe, I have S905X3 4G 64GB Box with Android 9, X96 max + , I am looking to install
a dual boot to enable switch Corelec and android box, Can anyone help how to achieve this
I have a sd card method currently for emuelec. Any advise would be highly appreciated.

cheers

multi channel introduces 1.0 second audio delay for some of my videos. reverting to the default hdmi audio out made that random audio delay disappeared.

I have two coreelec boxes at the moment one with s905x (8gb/1gb) and the other with s905x3 (64gb/4gb).

on s905x3, some of the 4K videos start playing at the top left corner for a second or so and then the full 4k resolution is utilzied afterward. sometimes, however, the video is stuck at the top left corner until i manually seek the video back and forth by 10secs or pause and resume.

A few things I tried that did not work.

  1. changing resolution to 1080p or 2160p does not make any difference.
  2. changing the video delay time when changing the resolution via whiltelisting (3.0 secs to 4 secs to 0) also does not make any difference.
  3. enabling/disabling auto refresh rate matching
  4. enabling/disabling gui scaling

on s905x3, while syncing the libraries with emby server using the emby 4 kodi add-on, if i stop any video that is being played at the time, then the entire system freezes. This happens all the time while syncing is in progress but the video stops just fine when emby 4 kodi is not syncing the libraries or if i play a local video file (instead of a file from the emby server).

These two issues happen on the stable 9.2.2 as well as the latest nightlies (i tested 0602, 0603 and 0604). But these problems do not happen on the s905x box.

EDIT: i just tested again on the s905x, i take back what i said about the second issue. that issue happens on both s905x and s905x3. hopefully this can be addressed here. I will likely report the same bug issue with Emby as well.

Hello,

I recently received a bqeel y8 max, and would like to know which method you used to get the device to boot into your Coreelec nightly image? Iā€™ve been trying the Recovery method (2nd variant) ,since the y8 max has the update app pre-installed, using the 20200606-Generic image, but without much luck.

The termux app was installed, but the OS doesnā€™t seem to have the reboot command, at least I canā€™t find it.

Update: Once I added a mouse to the device, it was much easier to use termux (yeah kind of back-a**wards for a terminal app) to do directory searches. Found the reboot command in /system/bin, and the reboot update booted into the coreElec image. End Update

Thanks,

i need it ! send me please
