Yep…tested it on my HK Rbox device and wifi works. Had to install the original firmware and install NO over it to make it use the emmc but everything is good now
Ok,you are on internal single boot CoreELEC.
How is wifi speed?,seemed very slow on my HK1, was just a quick test on my part?
Tx, that looks a cool feature and I’ve enabled it. Though the Minix seems to go to sleep despite all the power saving options being disabled. Please let me know if there’s an issue connecting or when finished.
You will need to keep the device online when we should take a look…
Sure, but I don’t know how to keep it online. It had a red LED this morning vs blue for on.
What other settings could be making it go to sleep?
It was short online but it’s gone again. Broken internet?
The TV can send the device by CEC to power off. Disable CEC input in kodi.
Just gone to sleep again, it’s back on now and Ive disabled the CEC input device (took a bit of tracking down).
Have a look in the box settings WITHOUT CE card or usb inserted.
Bah, it’s gone to sleep again. Not sure what you mean by the above. There’s no USB inserted and I don’t know what a CE card is, nor does Google. Do you mean remove the HDMI cable?
Wifi should work again with nightly 20251024 for the 0x4356 chip.
Please reboot the device so it get online once more and I can reset everything to default again.
Then you just need to update with next nightly.
Great -tx. I’ve restarted it and setup Terminal access again. (The display went blank for a long time earlier so wasn’t sure what was going on, but it’s restarted with 20251023)
Yeah, CE is on my internal SD
I tried a few videos and its fine. Obviously hard wiring stuff will always be superior but yeah
SD card with CE mounted on it.
Yes everything working here as well, first test home network was jammed, also I forgot how weak the bcm chip is.wifi in Ugoos Am6b Plus, and X96X10 PRO twice as fast
Iam staying on NE with this box for awhile, good to know it is fine for the Future kernel 5.15.170
Doh! I booted into Minix Android and turned everything off related to sleep, though most was already. But it still sleeps. ![]()
And CEC too. Prob not related from Android side but ……..
@Portisch 20251024 works! Tx very much for fixing the wifi.
Hello,
I have a Tanix TX3 mini with an unsupported wifi chip. I read this post and this post has a solution. But I don’t understand how to use this solution. I tried several old CoreElec releases (9.2.8, 19.5, 20.5). But non of them can detect this unsupported wifi chip. If this driver is disabled by default, how can I enable it? Anyone can explain to me? Thanks very much for any help.
@Portisch can you say something about wifi on the ugoos am9 with NO? Should this work or is there no driver (yet) available? Because wifi is not working and i am wondering if something is only missing (e.g. firmware update or so) or if this might be a longer task (e.g. because of missing driver).
We got no new info from Ugoos what they did change with Android 14 so PCI is not working and they use PCI Wifi chip…
