yes i reviewed this carefully.
Thank you for the responses, everyone. it might be as simple as using a different skin. switching back to the default it appears that dovi is loading. playback quality is not great, but that might be network related.

the fact that the version check was disabled is very important. so thank you for that info
The Dune Player app canât play FEL on Dune Homatics R Plus, only as converted. I tried again to be certain, and no, FEL as is, is not supported.
Hi All
Am I being massively thick here because I have followed the instructions and looked at a lot of threads. I still get the purple issue. My DV capability is 7 per one of the threads which I understand to be compatible. My TV is a Sammy that of course has HDR and not Dolby vision.
I have working dolby vision now. Thank you to the Coreelec team. It really is an awesome feature. Colors and clarity are incredibly good with dovi enabled.
There are some quirks with it. Such as the dovi blob not properly releasing control of the color range after a video has stopped playing. Sometimes, i have to reboot to restore proper colors.
There are also opportunities to improve the player so that seeking is easier and more fluid.
Iâm still working on improving ethernet and networking performance, as well as library management, which requires scripting.
The cause of my earlier problems was watching other guides on youtube which recommended immediately switching out of the default skin after coreelec installation. I donât know why they said that when it precludes the primary function of the mod.
If I get time, Iâd like to write a clear, higher level guide to help others.
So this was solution then
No need to write a guide,

Hi, havenât been here for some time now, I read on first page that DV can now work on 922x soc. Does that mean that it can work on my beelink gt king first generation? So I only need to copy dovi file on my existing installation of coreelec nightly build or need to do fresh install? Thx in advance.
No, it is not DV supported device.
There is an unsupported test build (in âUnsupported/EOL HW/SW & Community Projectsâ section that supports Dolby Vision playback (except P5) on S922x soc. With this version I get DV playback on my old Odroid N2 SBC.
Read about it from here
several of these devices are quite old now (eg 3 years). Are there any new contenders for 2025?
Do I install that file after I install 21.2 omega CoreELEC?
Yes, the dovi.ko in the OP is for CE-NG 21.2, copy it over after you setup your CE USB stick.
Do you own an Odroid N2?
Please let your comments in this thread.
I look forward to know if itâs working for you in 4K.
Rafael,
I wrote a post to help for the install, see here
A post was merged into an existing topic: Help, support CPM build
The Minix Neo T5 uses the S905X2 but doesnât support DV. If I install CE-NG, will it be able to play DV?
No, itâs not a Dolby Vision licensed SOC. Youâd get limited DV support with this unofficial build.
There are s905x2-J/K SOCs that have proper Dolby Vision licensing.
Thank you. So the S905X2 with the -J/K suffix supports it.
Iâve already ordered the Ugoos AM6B+
I only meant that there are devices with s905x2-J/K SOCs, but the Minix Neo T5 isnât one of them. CE doesnât officially support any s905x2-J/K devices.
This is the best device if you want DV.
