CoreELEC 19.2-Matrix Discussion

Experience some fps problems at 19.2. Sometimes if I continue a tv series or movie, the fps is not right and I recognize micro stutter, if I press 10 sec forward the screen goes black (a sign that he change the fps) and all is good. same if I start the movie or series from beginning. Someone has this too?! I have all settings like ever, that kodi recognize the fps with a delay of 2 sec.

I tested the Rii x1 wifi with no issue, I just typed the full alphabet on a PVR search with no long presses.

Martin

Probably is my Rii mini i8+ or it’s WiFi dongle behaving differently than your Rii x1, since it’s a nightmare to use it on CE 19.x versions. It annoys me so much that I switched from CoreElec-Kodi to Firestick 4k Kodi, where my Rii mini i8+ works properly.

What long key should I test? Typically with a keyboard you don’t need any long keys?

Martin

Oh Sholander, that’s a knife through the heart. And Kodi in firestick is so bad…

Well you can have longpress if you mask eventlircd and use amremote or rc_maps. Kodi only supports longpress if the remote acts as a keyboard. It is possible in CE. We won’t hold you at CE if you are unhappy. FireTV is a nice device.

The remote I am talking about IS a wireless keyboard Rii mini i8+ working over WiFi USB dongle.
And I’m staying on CE since N2 is not my only Amlogic device

Yes, but FireStick 4k is my main Kodi provider which I use in my holiday place; no smart TV there and certified L1 comes in handy. So instead of resting in my drawer and waiting for next holiday season I put it to use
Btw, I would not know much about FS’s Android since from the first day I use Kodi as my FS launcher, so no mess with Android nor with Amazon’s crap. And Kodi 19.2 on FS 4k works same as on my other devices, PC, Laptop, and 3 Android boxes; not to mention that my WiFi keyboard works perfect on all mentioned, except on my N2.

It’s not long keypress that’s bothering me (although I use them a lot) but short or normal keypress is my problem. I have to press the key VERY short to get proper reaction, and if I’m not fast enough I get unintentional long keypress reaction or repeated characters when typing.

Hallo,
mein A95X max Bluetoogh funktioniert immer noch nicht.
Wlan Lan ok
gibt es eine Lƶsung?

Hi there,
my A95X max Bluetoogh still does not work.
Wlan Lan ok
is there a solution?
regards

Try this solution. No idea if it works or not.
Place this file in \\BOX_IP\Configfiles\udev.rules.d folder, reboot and check if something changed or not
70-input-repeat.rules (232 Bytes)
Also try with this content in file:

Please inform us if one or both of them works.

Thanx, will do today and inform you.

Well, both files work and improve/slower key response. I kept the first/shorter one, and transferred the dongle from back 3.0 port to the front 2.0 port and the keyboard is again very usable.
Thank you very much for help.

Can you put the Firestick back in the drawer to use only in vacations?

I already did that, put it into deep sleep :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

unfortunatelly HDMI passthrough of AC3 is still broken on M8S II Mini. Any idea how to fix it? I’m back to 9.2.8 for the time being since it is working fine there.

I have an a95x box (s905x) that I use a 8812BU based AC wifi USB adapter as it is much faster than the onboard N wifi.

On older CE versions I had to disable the onboard wifi or neither the onboard or the USB adapter would work if they were both plugged in/active at the same time.

After installing the latest update I an unable to disable the onboard wifi using the blacklist.conf file, and neither wifi adapter works at boot if the USB adapter is plugged in.

I had previous added ā€˜blacklist wlan’ to my blacklist file, and it worked without issue.
I can confirm that those files are in place, and my black list appears unchanged from previous versions.

If I look at lsmod I don’t see any name changes that jump out at me.

I tried upgrading to the 10/18/21 nightly, and it has the same issue.

I rolled back to 19.2 RC3 and was able to get everything working without issue again. I am guessing something changed between RC3 and the final release that impacted blacklisting the wifi somehow.

Does anyone have any ideas on how I can disable the onboard wifi adapter again without a hardware modification to the system?

your blacklist config would be needed. and also provide all debug logs

@Portisch
I provided the blacklist config in my post, but I will put it in code brackets so it is easier to find.

blacklist wlan

Here are debug logs.

please also:

ls .config/modprobe.d

and then cat for each conf file you get:

cat .config/modprobe.d/xxxx.conf
