CoreELEC 21.1-Omega Amlogic-ng Discussion

Thank you!

I hope this libbluray stuff isn’t giving you too many nightmares or headaches

The 20241001 does not mention anything about libbluray. Shoudl I still download it?

1001, I tested, and it seems that the menu has indeed been fixed

For me, the Gladiator menu works now in DV mode, so I would say yes

Thank you and @MauriceW67 for confirming

Hello, it’s my first time posting here. I recently bought a Fire TV Cube 2nd Gen after finding out that it has CE support with DV. So far I’m amazed by the device, after setting up with the eMMC install process it’s been very smooth. Huge props to the CE team and @YadaYada for the work.

With regards to DV, I would say I encountered some weird stuttering issues when FF/RW. Eventually there would be skipped frames and the audio would desync. I tested three types of DV movies: P7 FEL, P7 2Mbps MEL, and P7 MEL. I did not cover the BD menus, only playback.

P7 FEL
tsmuxed BDMV - fail https://paste.coreelec.org/ThaddeusBottles
MKV ST-DL - ok
TS ST-DL - fail https://paste.coreelec.org/CourtLombardo
TS DT-DL - fail - the BDMV link would probably work here, since it’s also DT-DL anyways?

P7 MEL (2Mbps)
BDMV - ok
MKV ST-DL - ok
TS DT-DL - ok
TS ST-DL - fail https://paste.coreelec.org/WitchesScuse

P7 MEL (no 2Mbps stream)
BDMV - ok
MKV ST-DL - ok
TS DT-DL - ok
TS ST-DL - fail https://paste.coreelec.org/WieldingJewel

I had these formats for testing because prior to this my DV playback device was a Sony X800m2, which would require TS DT-DL for FEL and TS ST-SL for MEL. P8 conversion makes the latter non-FEL tests not as significant but just wanted to show in case there’s a clue there.

However, given that FEL playback works fine with MKV anyways I wouldn’t mind switching formats. I ended up buying another 2nd gen cube too so I could retire the X800m2 altogether, so MKV would fit my needs perfectly.

Prior to posting an error

Try the latest nightly build

Is the menu still working with last nightly or did I optimise it to much?

Everything still working here. Tested with Gladiator and an Indiana Jones movie.

A post was merged into an existing topic: Help, support CPM build

Can you test Black Panther 2018? The menu screen is black, the video stream track only shows one 1080P, there is no 2160P, after selecting this 1080P, the image is normal, and then you can select the menu.

Add:Teenage.Mutant.Ninja.Turtles.Mutant.Mayhem.2023 ,1080P is selected by default, and 2160P is selected again, for the menu to be normal.

Hello there, ran some more DV playback tests, this time using the latest nightly build with Fire TV Cube 2nd Gen.

P7 FEL
BDMV via index.bdmv - ok
BDMV via mpls - ok
TS DT-DL - skips frames https://paste.coreelec.org/ImplyAdvances
TS ST-DL - no display https://paste.coreelec.org/BargainScones
MKV ST-DL - ok

P7 MEL (2mbps)
BDMV via index.bdmv - ok
BDMV via mpls - ok
TS DT-DL - skips frames, https//paste.coreelec.org/OrderingGenoa
TS ST-DL - no display https://paste.coreelec.org/RibbonsLipstick
TS ST-SL (P8) - with ui, no video https://paste.coreelec.org/BoogerShelter
MKV ST-DL - ok

P7 MEL
BDMV via index.bdmv - ok
BDMV via mpls - ok
TS DT-DL - skips frames https://paste.coreelec.org/ThingsCrickets
TS ST-DL - no display https://paste.coreelec.org/DeathMissin
TS ST-SL (P8) - with ui, no video https://paste.coreelec.org/IronicAnyways
MKV ST-DL - ok

Others
MP4 ST-SL (P8) - ok
MKV P5 - ok

Note:
When playing FEL via .bdmv or mpls or mkv (mostly on large skips), DV is shown to trigger again when FF/RW. Not the case on other formats.

As noted by other users, playback thru BDMV seems to be solved already. However, now P8 in TS ST-SL no longer shows video, although player process info does seem to recognize it is playing DV. Hopefully that gets fixed since it was working fine in stable.

TS ST-DL also has no display at all whether it’s playing FEL or not, but this is just for testing’s sake, not really expecting this to be used.

For now when it comes to DV movie playback, MKV works best, since it will probably cover all profiles, and BDMV works no problem too. Also, it’s probably more work for devs to try to cover these formats (which I really only used for the X800m2, and TS ST-DL I never used at all…) rather than convert my existing library with mkvtoolnix, so… :person_shrugging:

@Portisch Black Panther menu test file

I’m not a coder and don’t know if this will help
https://docs.connect.panasonic.com/oss/bdplayer/AWBPP18A.html

Yes, with the latest nightlys in Amb6+ the dv p8.ts files seems broken. Black screen and the system freeze.
Sampes to try:
first
second

Teenage.Mutant.Ninja.Turtles.Mutant.Mayhem.2023 menu test iso

Thx for the sample, issue should be fixed with next nightly.

No idea, maybe kodi does not support it at all?
It include HEVC_NAL_EOS_NUT like:

But 36 is a End-Of-Sequence. Not sure how to handle this and where it’s wrong. Does it work with Kodi on Windows or Linux?
It does also not work with DV disabled on CE.

Kodi Windows, the menu is OK

Where can I find the last Omega nightly aarch64 image for Odroid N2 ?
I do not dare to install Kodi Piers right now.
