CoreELEC 21.3-Omega Amlogic-ne Discussion

There will be no fix anymore for CE-NG/CE-NE, CE-21 anymore for this issue. The scaling issue should be resolved with CE-NO, CE-22.

The scaling issue is caused by restore bad user backup data. And also by using not the default 1080 mode for GUI. Also the “disable GUI scaling” option should remain untouched and stay disabled.

So make a clean fresh install without restoring a backup and do a new setup and all will work.

Drop tar into Update folder, reboot.

To get to your CE device using its ip addy and windows use this command in the top field of file explorer

This should show folders in CE

Sorry, but I don’t know how to connect the computer to the TV box to make this move to these folders. Please explain to me?

Open CE box. Go to addons CoreElec.

Go to network Note ip address being used. (you can make the ip addy static (manual) if you want.

Open windows file explorer

Put \\ip address

Open CE folders

Find update folder .

Copy file downloaded from link above.

Reboot Box.

Hello. I didn’t find the 20251016 nightly in the provided link. I also search in the nightly release from the Coreelec homepage. Is there a way to get it?

Thanks!

EDIT: I found a 20251023 version, but nightly also gives the same error as 21.3 on a Khadas Vim4.

Try starting at https://archive.coreelec.org/

Thanks. Yes I’m on it. I’m trying to find which nightly broke the GUI. So I just tried the 20250606 nightly, still broke the GUI. So I back up to the base and try another nightly. That might give me an idea of what broke it.

EDIT: Well, it’s between 20250201 and 20250404.

EDIT2: The last working version for me is 20250210. The 20250214 broke it first with this commit:

b909f066c4: Thu Feb 13 16:44:28 2025 +0100 – linux:Amlogic-ne: bump package to ec54f69b (Portisch)

My Khadas VIM1S has given me a nice bootloop ever since updating, regular install doesn’t work either, updating won’t work.

Just thought about this forum instead of the Khadas one, and seeing people here just downloading the older version (why didn’t I think of that), guess that’ll be my move as well..

Hopefully 22.0 will just work™.

Latest Ce-22 nightlies just had a fix for the vim1s to be able to boot again.

Hello, on CE 21.3 Omega - Ugoos AM8 box/Lg Oled, the CE menu only appears in the upper left quarter of the image during a movie; and thus unfortunately the subtitles are only visible in the bottom quarter of the screen. This is quite annoying, do you know of any solution?

Yes

Thank you, the same situation occurs after a completely new and clean installation; interestingly, everything is fine under Ugoos Am6b+/AM7 and AM9.

However, under CE NO it indicates an incompatible kernel - no DolbyVision..! Is there another dovi.ko file or other solution?

yes, it is different

Could you help me; where can I download it? Thank you for your efforts!

In the old CE NO thread.
