CoreELEC 22.0-Piers_alpha1 Discussion

I am not sure if I am the first one but the startup logo is a bit Naff preferred the old TBH otherwise all working as it should do.

Works like a charm on the C5 and N2+, no issues to speak of, once I manned up and did a clean install. Good work devs!!!

Prior to this, I chose to disregard the prevailing wisdom of a clean install because I’m lazy and like the custom colour settings of my skin. Like a moron, I copied my complete NG setup over to the N2+ running the shiny new 22.0 NO. Surprises surprise, you guys were right…. Strange Audio issues in the interface, and random crap that would cause the system to hang. Did a fresh install and just copied the userdata files from my NG Aeon Nox Silvo to the NO box.

Worked like a charm and I didn’t have to manually redress my skin.

Wondering if is possible compile just kodi 22 against ng kernel instead 21, which supports S905X3.. Would need to check, how many patches there are..

I tried that just for fun and for me a couple of days ago. I am a dev but not familiar with the ce code base.

I just updated the packages of kodi and ffmpeg (which needs to be also updated) by just copy-pasting stuff from the ce-no22 branch the the ng branch. I ran into problems that, I guess, kodi wants a ‘gbm.h’ file while compiling which seems to not present in the kernel. I just then gave up, due to the lack of time to debug any further.

thanks for saving me time. in CE/xbmc there are I guess too many patches to backtrack, and possible try/find error/fix against k22 is too much timeconsuming.. Will stay with 21.2 for a while a guess, untill python in kodi will significantly change, I guess it should work some good amount of time.

You are welcome

Same for me, will stay with the current ng nightly and update to k21.3 when it is release and just stay there. I do not want to loose full FEL decoding for the AM6b+. At least for now.

Yes, it’s possible with some fiddling, but why?

S905X2 and up are supported by the NO kernel.

Hmm, last time I checked coreelec:ce_dev_cycle [CoreELEC Wiki] , S905X3 wasnt there for NO. Thats good news. However I have best experience with ng and didnt try other kernel, I am glad for that support :+1:

Only GXL/S905X support was dropped in NO, all other chips are supported.

Is vs10 engine in Kodi 22 only on demand or can i force everything to always lldv?

hi, the upgrade to version 22.0 was completely seamless on x96 max plus ultra, all streams ran beautifully. Until the update to inputstreamadaptive version 22.2.8.1, could someone please provide me with an earlier version? I can’t downgrade and I couldn’t find this inputstream anywhere. Thank you very much

Emby Server 4 just won’t start no matter what. What could be the reason? I’ve even redeployed CoreELEC, and have already tried both formatting (the device) and a factory reset.

Start by looking this one and ask on emby forum?

Or install emby in docker. Much better solution.

I’ve moved years back to docker and never looked back

I did dirty upgrade from 21.2 to 22.0 on Odroid-N2.

Result: upgrade successful, database migration on external NAS successful but when started I see only “CEC initialization failed” and not able to ssh although device is responding to ping. And of course because of CEC doesn’t work I can’t navigate using my TV remote and of course can’t take any logs because can’t ssh.

I don’t know if it might be because of VPN Manager for OpenVPN? Anyway in couple of days I will try with clean flash on additional SD.

Developers on the Emby forum suggested reaching out to the plugin developer. Right now, it seems that FTS5 needs to be incorporated into the SQLite build. However, I can’t get in touch with the developer of this plugin. Alright, I’ll give up for now—though I hope they might see this here.

Please add FTS5 to the sqlite build?
I’m guessing the Emby package for CoreElec is using the sqlite build that is provided by CoreElec.

Tested on Ugoos AM9
Wifi not working, vvc not recognized.
