Dolby Vision for Minix U22X-J (Max) and Ugoos AM6+

Thanks. I successfully updated to 21.1 0616 nightly build using the smb method.

Just curious: I can’t downgrade back to the 21.0, right? So in that case the only solution is to reformat the usb, reinstall 21.0 and repeat all the installation steps?

use the same method to upgrade/downgrade to any 21 version

Huh… then I wonder why it say these in the update page :

Downgrading
Downgrading is unsupported by Team CoreELEC (and Team Kodi).
Any support requests will be ignored.

When downgrading, all kinds of issues arise in the areas of:

Addon compatibility
Hardware compatibility
System stability
System useability

Downgrade by same main versions, you will not have issue…
Downgrade between main, eg. from 21 to 20, not recommended.

Ugoos AM6B+
CoreElec nightly 20240616, crash log: kodi_crashlog_20240618230644.log

Hi, got my am6b set up. DV works perfectly but any HDR content I got no signal. No idea what’s causing it

Check new HDMI cable

How is AM6b connected to (and what) TV?

Can we use CE as NFS server?

Connected to my VRRoom HDMI Switch and LG C2 TV

Is the situation the same when AM6B is connected directly to C2?
I have it directly connected to my C2 without any problem, all formats except HDR10+ work as expected…

Wire the Ugoos box HDMI directly to the LG C2 to test–bypass the switch. If that alone fixes it, the issue is with the HDMI switch. If that’s the HDFury device my guess is the EDID is set incorrectly for that given port.

Running nightly it is not rare to get crash upon opening a media, is it normal?

Would it be related to other factors, like the kind of media source (like it’s samba or webdav), or the HDMI cable?

crash log with 0621 nightly, AM6B+

For me, very rare to get crashes, almost never. 99% of my content is in MKV container though.

For ISO and BDMV, maybe still some bugs. Best to post crash log in that thread.

Just wanted to post to say thanks to the development team and mention that I’ve successfully installed using a USB stick and the toothpick method to run the stable 21 Omega release on a UGOOS AM6B+ then successfully updated to nightly release using the SSH and wget method. Stable release has been almost perfect for playing multiple Dolby Vision FEL remuxes but lower quality content occasionally had choppy playback so testing nightly builds to see if that was fixed. Thanks again for providing a great software product!

Today I found when opening an ISO blu-ray disc image, the HDMI signal is off, but kodi process seems to be still present, so there is no crash.

kodi.log:

https://paste.coreelec.org/ImpairedWrestle

Device: AM6B+
Version: nightly 20240623

EDIT: after doing: systemctl restart kodi, I navigate to the same ISO file and open it, it prompts to continue at about 5 minutes, so it seems the kodi was doing the playback, but only the TV does not receive any HDMI signal. Is this due to HDMI handshake incompatibility issue upon starting a playback session?

Don’t think it could hurt in any way.

Hi, I was running the nightly version and installed the stable version and makes flawless now

on which stable version is dovi.ko file working? i didn’t work here a month ago.

Not sure if this is appropriate in this thread.I recently mailed out to ugoos for requesting a firmware with an unlocked bootloader to get some of our HDMI cec issues fixed. They initially asked me what purpose it serves and once I reverted they said they will look into it.Maybe if more people express their need for an unlocked boot loader it might make them consider it.
