Ah this might be the solution to my problem above , so have to disable passthrough using tv speakers only? 
Audio is not working on my minix u22 max connected to lg c6, movie is 1917 dolby atmos 7.1
as far as I know, some lg tv can’t use earc passtrough dts sound to avr or soundbar
I have made some comparison between Sony X800m2 BD player and Ugoos am6b+ both in Tv-led and playing the same videos. My TV is a Panasonic Oled LZ1500 55". For me it is hard to see the differences if any. On Ugoos I prefer CE build to Monsoon in android. To make comparisons the movies must be in TS container because Sony x800m2 does not process Dolby Vision in Mkv container

Should I get am6 plus, I found one for cheap. Any difference between this and am6b other than wifi? (which I won’t be using.)
Edit: Want it specifically for ST-FEL DV files.
Could be a good idea if cheap enough. I think the main difference is core speeds. Early days yet with CE and FEL, I haven’t even watched a whole movie yet but looks good.

No, CPU is the same. According to description only major change is wifi. Maybe you’ve mistaken it with the non plus version?
Just want to make sure I’ll have the same experience with this as AM6B users.
ST is single track profile 7 DV and it seems this device can play them.

I got the latest dualboot firmware installed, but it’s only 20.2 and if I update it to 20.3 I don’t get the options for dolby vision. I would like to update it to the latest 20.3 nightly…
edit: nevermind, installed the non dualboot firmware and was able to install the latest CE nightly. I will start testing some files tomorrow. Can’t wait to finally watch some dv fel movies in full quality. May I ask what you guys did to finally get it done in CE? I almost lost hope…
FEL has been working for a while now. We recently got MEL to work, but realistically MEL is comparable to P8.1 conversion. So it’s a nice to have, where you wouldn’t have to toggle the conversion option when playing FEL.
Maybe the DV options 8.1,minimal el etc could be eliminated now leaving only losslees.
In theory, we could completely drop libdovi, as it’s not really needed anymore on ng-dv.
Any news on getting full BD disc FEL .iso to play in DV. I tested one last night and it was HDR.
I also had a MEL movie that kept pausing for a split second at the same point, I had it in the lossless DV setting. Now I’m thinking I should of changed to 8.1 DV to see if that fixed it.
Edit…Switching to 8.1 DV did fix that pause in MEL DV remux.

I’m not sure what Kodi’s plans are, but as far as I know, it does not support playing multiple streams at once. I could be wrong.
Without this capability there’s little chance of playing full DV BD .iso content. You can always remux it, although I never tried to do it personally.

I have a question. Can these two boxes be called perfect at this point: Minix U22X-J (Max) and Ugoos AM6+?
It seems to me that at the moment they play everything except the BLURAY menu?
Do they play all HDR, HDR HLG, HDR 10+ and Dolby Vidion (mel and fel) formats?
What’s more, they play all audio formats, including DTS-X and Dolby TrueHD 7.1 Atmos?
Does it also play VC1?
Plays BLURAY iso?
Are there any other formats that these boxes do not play and that I have not mentioned?
This sounds perfect outside the BLURAY menu.
I ordered Ugoos AM6B + on Aliexpress. I hope that the right model will come to me and everything will work on it.
Not perfect but I’ve been happy with mine (AM6B+).
I think Blu-ray java menus should work with the BD-j add on. I tested a basic looking 4K BD-j menu recently and that worked fine.
No Dolby Vision when playing full disc .ISO (.iso play perfectly but in HDR)
No AV1 hardware decoding, might play 1080p but won’t play 4K AV1 files.
Last time I tried CE played VC-1 but Android didn’t.
Also there is the matter of the TV-LED not working correctly with Amlogic SoC’s, there is a thread if you want to discuss this.
What about turning CoreElec on and off on AM6B+? Does it work normally when I press the sleep and wake up button on the remote control? I currently have Homatics and in CoreElec it is impossible to wake up the box after sleep.
Dual track dual layer files are not working in Dolby Vision (Kodi limitation).
We need a version of ffmpeg/libdovi that can convert DTDL to STDL on-the-fly.
For example ffmpeg pipe two tracks to libdovi mux command.

It is my understanding that Kodi only supports 1 video stream at a time.
I could be wrong, so quietvoid’s input would be nice.
