Dolby Vision for Minix U22X-J (Max) and Ugoos AM6+

I cannot import from Ugoose store (Canada?) nor from UK store without paying full customs duties for EU import, which is about +60% in declared prices in my county.
Importing from Aliexpress.com is no problem for me since full custom duties are already included in declared price.

I bought the amb6+ and followed all the instructions to get it working, but it only shows a green tint over the picture. When starting the movie, it shows the DV flag and i can see in the tv menu’s that it switched over to DV dark mode, as intended.

Using the following setup:
Panasonic GZ950 Oled
Denon 3500H AVR
21.0 omega

Log file during playback:
https://paste.coreelec.org/UEom8t

TV has NO issues using the UHBD player and DV content.

Already tried:

  • Moving to latest nightly build
  • Straight to TV connection
  • Other HDMI cables.

So what is it that iam doing wrong so i can get it to work?

you can enable player led
settings/system/coreelec enable use player led
also you can check dv capabilities over ssh

cat /sys/class/amhdmitx/amhdmitx0/dv_cap

Thanks, Player led seems to be working.

output from the command while playing via AVR:

DolbyVision RX support list:

So what is the issue?

Your AVR or TV does not support Display Led Dolby Vision.

AM6B+ does have 12V 2Amps power supply.
Have 5TB 2.5" hdd attached and no restarts so far for 3 weeks…

I don’t think it’s bandwidth. It looks like a bug. I‘m having the same issue. I have the GUI at 4k60z and all DV content plays perfect, but wenn i disable GUI scaling and reboot, DV content doesn‘t play any more. The GUI is fine and looks perfect, but when i start a (only DV!) movie, only the top 5% of the screen shows the movie. On the rest of the screen there’s a one-color-block, that’s changes its colors with the movie. HDR content still performs without errors.

I‘ll send a log in the next days…

Mine mentions the DV_RGB as well as the LL_YCbCr line but not sure what that means? If I set player led to on my tv shows the signal as DV and BT.2020 but if I disable player led it doesn’t show 2020 so presume is 709.

What should it be showing?

Actually had the exact same issue when I first got my box and was trying to figure out why PM4K wasn’t playing my DV titles (12bit bug). I should’ve done more research at the time but instead I just started playing around with the different display settings that included gui scaling and resolution. Eventually DV was playing, but only top 5% of the screen was showing in both the native kodi player and PM4K. Reverting the gui options and rebooting didn’t help, and I ended up just reinstalling everything. Now everything’s working fine and I’ve just left the gui settings alone to their defaults.

Basically it means your TV supports both TV-led (DV_RGB) and Player-led (LL_YCbCr). LL = Low Latency.

TV-led is normally better, because it will let your TV handle the processing of the DV metadata (and your TV knows its own characteristics best).

can someone test the gemini man 4k60 dv remux. you need to convert it to single videotrack so you can play it as dv. my test result is it would be laggy sometime and soundtrack broke too.
i test on ce21 nightly 20240429.
hope it will be fixed soon.
-------------updated-----------
my bad it is just a cache setting thing. nothing need to be fixed, sorry.
-------------updated again-------------
it’s not cache thing but lan cable problem, because lager memeorysize just delay the buffering issue. then i changed a new cable everything is fine.

My TV doesn’t show BT.2020 though if I disable player led so is that a problem? To be honest to my eyes it’s hard to see any discernible difference (if any) and without being able to easily and quickly flick between the 2 settings I can’t tell.

I’ve responded to the post on your other thread by Gemini Man plays fine for me in MKV.

The most correct setting for Display (TV) led is to have no flag. It’s neither BT.2020 or BT.709, but it’s own special color space. If your TV supports, Display (TV) led used that and don’t worry.

According to Google your TV supports TV led DV…

Perhaps try a few things like setting HDMI signal to “enhanced” (the wording could vary a bit Panasonic TVs aren’t common here so unfamiliar with them).
Your AVR will likely have a similar setting. Another thing to try is disable ALLM if you have it set to enabled.

Obviously try different HDMI port on the TV and receiver. While this may seem like a trivial thing to check, using combination of certain HDMI ports vs others have actually caused some initial headaches with my Ugoos boxes since I’ve been using them.

It really depends on the TV brand. My Philips 808 OLED does not even show a colorspace when in TV-led mode. It just shows RGB / 8-bit / RGB Full, which is correct, because that is the tunneling protocol used for TV-led DV.

Hi everyone,

I have a Ugoos AM6B+ but nothing plays as Dolby Vision, everything just plays as regular HDR. The files do play as DV on my Firestick through Kodi.

Not sure if I missed something during installation or there is some setting I can’t seem to find but (on the Firstick I can choose DV in the settings for Kodi). I followed the installation instructions here (coreelec:ugoos [CoreELEC Wiki] as per the sticky). Installed onto a SD Card.

The Ugoos is connected to a Denon 4800H which is connected to my TV. As mentioned DV plays fine on my firestick.

The installation image used is “CoreELEC-Amlogic-ng.arm-21.0-Omega-Generic.img.gz”

All help is appreciated!
