EmuELEC: Retro Emulation Kodi Addon for CoreELEC!

Hello again!
@shanti Thank you very much for this new emuelec addon 3.5.

I have been using it for a while and so far I see
two things: when I get in the Emuelec Settings and I try to change a setting or go back it crashes and Emuelec quits.
I attach a photo: if I go back or change any setting it quits.

In reicast emulator the controller doesn’t work. In the rest of the emulators works perfectly when I config the controller input. I’m using a ps3 controller.

Yes there is a bug, if one of the options is blank it will crash (in this case most emulators are blank)

There are some emulators with no emulators to choose so there is no way we can leave any with no blanks. When you have time, could you fix that?
Thanks for the great work you are doing.

In the mean time, you can replace the getcores.sh in config/emulationstation/scripts with file from the 3.2 addon. Works for me.

I have uploaded a new test version that hopefully has all these bugs fixed, its based on the same 3.5 version so it has not changed much but I didn’t had time to properly test it, if you want to test it, I would recommend you do so in a clean install since I am not 100% sure what bugs are new :stuck_out_tongue:

Hi @shanti thanks for your hard work! Got one question though - I tried my best but can’t work it out.

I’m using a xiaomi game pad with emuelec and when I used the standalone version (using sd card) it works fine, I can return to the emu menu by clicking the home button (which i configured as the hotkey) however when I’m in kodi add on mode, it doesn’t work.

The config is as follows:

<?xml version="1.0"?>
<inputList>
  <inputAction type="onfinish">
    <command>/storage/.kodi/addons/script.emuelec.Amlogic.launcher/bin/bash /storage/.emulationstation/scripts/inputconfiguration.sh</command>
  </inputAction>
  <inputConfig type="joystick" deviceName="&#x5C0F;&#x7C73;&#x84DD;&#x7259;&#x624B;&#x67C4;" deviceGUID="05000000172700004431000029010000">
    <input name="rightanalogdown" type="axis" id="5" value="1"/>
    <input name="rightanalogleft" type="axis" id="2" value="-1"/>
    <input name="leftshoulder" type="button" id="12" value="1"/>
    <input name="start" type="button" id="17" value="1"/>
    <input name="leftanalogup" type="axis" id="1" value="-1"/>
    <input name="up" type="hat" id="0" value="1"/>
    <input name="rightanalogup" type="axis" id="5" value="-1"/>
    <input name="a" type="button" id="6" value="1"/>
    <input name="b" type="button" id="7" value="1"/>
    <input name="hotkeyenable" type="button" id="5" value="1"/>
    <input name="down" type="hat" id="0" value="4"/>
    <input name="leftanalogright" type="axis" id="0" value="1"/>
    <input name="leftanalogdown" type="axis" id="1" value="1"/>
    <input name="rightshoulder" type="button" id="13" value="1"/>
    <input name="righttrigger" type="button" id="15" value="1"/>
    <input name="right" type="hat" id="0" value="2"/>
    <input name="x" type="button" id="9" value="1"/>
    <input name="select" type="button" id="16" value="1"/>
    <input name="leftanalogleft" type="axis" id="0" value="-1"/>
    <input name="y" type="button" id="10" value="1"/>
    <input name="left" type="hat" id="0" value="8"/>
    <input name="rightanalogright" type="axis" id="2" value="1"/>
    <input name="lefttrigger" type="button" id="14" value="1"/>
  </inputConfig>
</inputList>

So when I got in the actual games, the hotkey doesn’t work anymore, also the gamepads are not configured as it should - the analog L stick click becomes ‘start’ in megadrive.

Oh I should mention I’m using a x96 max plus (s905x3 + 4G ram + 64G storage).

Are you able to have a look?
Thanks
Bruce

Coreelec 9.2.2 x96s905x 2gb/16gb Hy my problem. Install 3.5 script.zip and this not run… cant reaction.

You have to put at least one game in correct subfolder in storage/roms/subfolder directory to skip this error.
For example “Super Mario 64.n64” game goes to storage/roms/n64 folder.

Either what @Sholander said or the installation for some reason didn’t complete, be sure to wait when installing, it takes a while.

Does anyone have the Addon v3.5 (ng)? The links are no longer available :anguished:

I have both versions.

Note this warning on the website

‘(If this message was not here when you downloaded the 3.5 version, you need to download it again as a bug was fixed that affected performance, be sure to use the “reset emuelec script and binaries to default” option on the danger zone under the emuelec menu after upgrading)’

This warning is on EmuElec standalone version; don’t see it anywhere for addon-louncher version…
Btw, I have a newer 3.5 addon version. Your link is for the version dated 5th of April, and I have newer one from 12th of May.

Belt and braces approach.

The version number of the addon just states 3.5 so I would imagine that your newer version may have an updated revision number.

You going to upload your version?

No, it’s a completely different version. Link:
https://1drv.ms/u/s!ApJTdsApkv0Pg49YEZlX8BFaEhKAvQ?e=i8hqq2

Still shows up the same as 3.5 version but file size is slightly different.

But sta28 now has choices, so job done one way or another.

Thanks, i’ll try both versions :+1:

Is it possible to make the Odroid N2 S/PDIF audio output working in EmuELEC? I have version 3.6, but still no sound. At startup of N2 S/PDIF is active, when booting into EmuELEC the S/PDIF LED extinguishes…

I honestly have no answer to this as I do not have any capable S/PDIF hardware to even test, sorry :frowning:

What is the latest version of emuelec? Where can I download it? On the first page you will find version 3.2 which is old.
