I usually go with the one corresponding to the current CPM build I am on…have the A6 build currently as I had some sync issues on Atmos with A7 build…but might try testing the new builds …A9 is out as well. Currently using the AH2 build due to some personal preferences in the video OSD - the way it displays the Clear Logo for title and also the menus tooltips for subtitle/audio tracks look better than in AZR…also the fact that I can change them on the go without having to go to Kodi menu.
Thank you for the link
So there is no git or anything where I can follow new releases of this CPM skin? Or a thread here?
Hi anyone getting System MD5 mismatch in updating @cpm A9? Keeps failing due to it.
update worked fine for me.
Works OK for me.
Hi @YadaYada can you try Cpm A9 on fire cube 2nd after updating the kernel, I’m getting fails. Thanks.
Wow disagree with almost this entire comment… especially “you want to play everything natively”. You have no idea what I or many users want.
Find this a bit of a luddite comment wrapped in a purity halo, but that’s A/V for you.
If you don’t want to use the cpm build and its VS10 features, that’s fine. But please don’t pretend to know best and speak for everyone.
As much as I like Arctic Zephyr, Aeon Nox Silvio is a more stable skin so I wish these updates could be made for that skin too.
Why a such a need to protect the “holy” builds. Can’t you both agree in disagree? This is turning into a cult.
Is that what I said? Please reread my comment and check the name of the thread.
In fact coming to a specific build thread and then telling people they’re watching things incorrectly with ‘zero benefit’ is the sanctimonious position.
Please read everything @Unmutual said about the subject and you’ll see why he said what he said. And I know the name of the thread. You can also read the section rules… it’s still a moderated area.
I read everything they said, and we can agree to disagree.
What I don’t do is lecture people and tell them how to enjoy or play their content, telling people “you want to play everything natively”. That is flat out incorrect, and a misunderstanding of the technology/methods behind VS10.
In fact there is a lot of use cases for VS10 especially if you have a DV enabled TV.
Yes there are. And they could well be in the main builds, but due to lack of time from cpm they aren’t. On the other hand, there’s lots of time to unload builds like pigeon s*&€t
PS: you look ahead and you see cpm A13 or cpm B17. The Team as to assure that there will be a CoreELEC build that he can work on. You can say everything about this team, but you can’t point the finger at the Team and say they’re selfish
I think you’re reading too much into my comments. All I’m saying is there are many ways to enjoy content, and there is no need to tell users they should only watch things ‘natively’ or they don’t need VS10 if they have a DV TV. Neither of those are true.
No, I’m just reading too much comments. And I won’t bother this “section” anymore unless something really serious pops up like last week.
End the cult then - there’s like 4 gui behaviour patches and a couple on hdmitx. There’s general PAL support outstanding from both (I guess I need to hack my edid?), but that’s also just another patch. The rest is just exposing information to the skin, which is nice but not a make or break.
If it’s that simple to incorporate the CPM build functionality into main, why don’t you create a couple of PRs so the CE Team can integrate them into the official builds?
Came here to say thank you to all the volunteers of CoreElec, and to CPM.
I use CPM instead of the CE nightlies because of the HDR10+ to DV dynamic conversion feature. I have an LG OLED tv that does not support HDR10+ but does support all the DV profiles. Dawn of the Dead (Second Sight) is one such HDR10+ remux of mine that uses this feature.
I also use VS10 with 2K Blu ray remuxes. Subjectively I’d say I do like the look, but I’m still testing and will eventually decide whether to keep this on, or disabled.
Again, thank you for all your efforts.
To be fair tho… He was responding to me specifically with that comment.
And for everyone: I think it’s okay to agree or to disagree with things. But if someone asking for recommendations on what to run, a bit more specific information would be great that explains WHY.
I, for one, don’t really like the “trust me bro” comments. It’s not very helpful. I don’t know you. I don’t know how much you know or how you learned it. Unless ofc you have “CoreELEC Team” next to your name.
But this is a help/support thread. So even if it is okay for everyone to have their own opinion, just stating it without explaining why you think what you think is not very helpful.
Like for example:
In fact there is a lot of use cases for VS10 especially if you have a DV enabled TV.
This tells me absolutely nothing as a newbie here.
