How to configure VFD

For X96Air im using this vfd.conf
What’s the difference of the file you provide?
Do i need replace “mine” for yours?
Thanks

If the vfd.conf you linked works for you, then the X99-Max vfd will not work. The X99 Max uses a completely different controller and display configuration.

So I don’t understand why he mentioned x96air

Don’t know

I guess he wanted to say X96 Air needs the same vfd conf as the X96Max Plus.
Not the X99 he had been shared.

I’m trying to get the front display to work -
The box is x96Air_P2_20191017 - 1917 - 4 / 64GB
Installed the nightly CE - running on SD card - works great!
Got the remote working - followed procedure in another thread. Most of it works.
The display is blank.
Downloaded x96-max-1gbit-vfd.conf - renamed to vfd.conf

But where is folder “/storage/.config” located ?
Can’t find the folder on the SD card!
Thanks for any help.

I don’t know how you access CE.I use coreftp lite. If you are using explorer, perhaps you need to show hidden files.

It’s the Config folder on the smb share.

Just access using \\coreelec from run command in windows or explorer

To see that folder, in Kodi choose Settings → Media → General → Show hidden files and directories => set to ON.
Then in (pretty potent) Kodi File manager you’ll see all hidden files and folders (folders all begin with a dot, like .config) Working with File manager, manipulating files/folders should not be a problem to any novice…

I use FileZilla (port 22) for transfering files between pc and x96Air_P3

⊞ Win + R opens the “Run Program Or File” Window .
Insert the IP address of your Box and hit enter.
Done. Too Easy.
This IP address is then stored the next time you want to access files on your box.

Hoping for some help, I’ve tried a few different vfd.conf files without any luck on my generic s905x3 box. https://www.amazon.ca/Android-Pendoo-Amlogic-Support-2-4GHz/dp/B07P7ZCJ4R/ref=sr_1_7?keywords=pendoo+x10&qid=1582950688&sr=8-7

The output of cat /sys/kernel/debug/gpio is:

I also have the dtb from coreelec ssh command dd if=/dev/dtb | gzip > /storage/downloads/dtb.img.gz:
dtb.img.gz (255.4 KB)

Much appreciated for any help!

Try the Tanix TX5 Pro vfd.

thanks for the help - it ended up being the x96-max-1gbit-vfd.conf that worked!

H96 max (X3) and HK1 (X3) use the same vfd.conf.

Thanks for this thread and your work
Have a T10 PRO Android TV Box S905X2, added a new conf to the VFD repo.
btw. gpio shows me in android ‘fd628_dev’, for the controller 0 doesnt work, but works with 3

Please share your vfd if it’s not in the officual vfd_configurations repo
I see you opened a PR, thanks.

sorry got a glitch, today my time was inverted, upside down… (suppose i saw yesterday lucky numbers)
works better with vfd_display_type=‘0x00,0x00,0x00,0x06’
would you update it? thx

edit: now i lost the icons… any suggestions for this stupid display?
