Here are two tutorial versions, SD with sound, and HD without sound, click
Short instruction:
Install “V3_setup_V3.2.8.exe” on a Win PC
Load “dv8910-hungphutho-v1.img” to Burning Tool
UNCHECK “Verify Bootloader” BOX !!!
Connect G1 with USB_A to USB_A cable to PC (use 2nd USB port away from uSD card port)
Press and hold Reset button and apply power to G1.
(Flashing should start now. If it does not, disconnect box and close Burn Tool. Repeat
the procedure until it starts flashing. I had to do it twice before it started flashing)
After it flashes for about 5-10 seconds release Reset button.
When flashing finishes close Burn Tool.
RUN “flash.bat” file…

Brilliant, the text instructions are what I was after really, I’d gleaned the bat file was AFTER the flashing but the transcript alone wasn’t good at saying what boxes to uncheck etc.

I had to run the commands in the bat file in power shell manually one by one on Windows 11, somehow it did not work with cmd. Otherwise it is the usual amlogic burning process, same for years now. Important though which software version you use.
@linuxo and @mike59, you have to ask @hungphutho to send you the needed files. It is not my FW, and I don’t have the permission to share it. You have to wait until he will answer to your request.
I always run cmd with admin privileges, and it works OK with this .bat file.

After you install this firmware, I don’t think that anybody can “fix” your box, except you, so don’t worry abut it.
Is it better to check what firmware is already installed before updating to hungphutho FW ?

NO! To be on the safe side DO NOT OPEN ANDROID before you flash this firmware!
If you want to check if the box is with original, not blocked, firmware just install CoreElec -ng version. If you get CE working, your box is ready for this firmware.
If you cannot install CE on your new box, either return it, or use only Android on it…

Can we try ce-ng before upgrading to hungphutho FW ?
Of course, in fact you should. If CE does not install/work, then your box is already locked, and you will not be able to install this moded firmware.
