Yes Atlas hungphutho and all I thank you and I confirm that me too my kinhank work very well now with this new dtb from @MrMind [sc2_s905x4_kinhank_g1_new_revision.dtb)… I focused on wake up power on but I see that now this dtb give me LAN WiFi and BT and better display of DV FEL and HDR. Power off via my TV cec and power on manually the box with power button in front 8-))

Hey uuuuhhhh I just power on my tv now and this power on my box and boot CE alone…!!!

Is there an IA chip inside ?? Lol

May be tomorrow my TV start CE from sleeping ? Lol

two things.
1st I disabled cec so my box always on. No need to turn off at all.
2nd with those with Blue screen did you do the reset button press underneath again when booting CE for 1st time?

Yep cec is bad with this box for now but if you enable it and let your tv suspend your CE box in sleeping mode when power off, so the next time you power on your tv you will be able to resume CE from front box power button manually. I just tried now couple of time and thats work (with the new dtb from @MrMind)

Hi all
I know its not a stable build but I get a Subtitle issue with the ng build 20241119 nightly when I start a movie and then when I select st CE need very longtime to show it or sometimes never …so I have to stop and restart the movie and then it show the sub immediately.
I would like to know if there is something to tweak to accelerate st display without upgrading build or something ?
This happens with stable build too but after few seconds it show the subtitles
Thanks for your words

Hello

Ok @Sholander thanks. Blue screen fixed with @MrMind dtb. I will try -ne build as soon it support DV / FEL MEL for sure :sunglasses:
@Atlas I confirm your issue with srt subtitle which do not start with CE nightly or need many time to start when needed

Anyway Is it possible to install 21.1.1 Omega STABLE -ng build working for this Kinhank G1
box or not for now ?
Thanks to you all

Hi you all from Corsica ! :sunglasses:
I just got my brand new KinHank G1 yeaaahhhh
Thanks @hungphutho for all your best you gave us ! @Sholander you say we must install nightly but why ??? and about dtb you say but there is no any dtb (kinhank) in nightly build ???
I check stable ng omega 21.1.1 build and I see that there is the famous dtb for kinhank but may be not the last from @MrMind ??? well I do not want boring you nor anyone but I’m a little disappointed there ? I’m not sure what to do exactly now about that all
Cheers !

For those who are interested to know, the G1 has a SOC as rev B, so it can play all videos on NG, like interlaced/ VC1 without any issues.
I tested many files, and I can confirm no overheat nor white artifacts :sunglasses:
HW (bug), so no fix on those boxes with rev D SOC. and compatibility on NG is not 100%.
This is an example of what I mean.

How do we check if rev b?

On NG branch
settings/ system info and look for hardware section first line CPU: s905X4 rev b
On NE
demsg logs can read the SOC revision type. (ssh and type dmesg | paste )

Yes, for some unknown reason CE team removed Kinhank .dtb from -ng nightlies and stable versions. So you depend on Kinhank .dtb files that are dealt here in this topic. Almost like like dealing drugs on the street corners…
Using nightlies over stable is preferred since stable version is rather old and does not have numerous fixes since stable version was released.

Btw, although I know that G1 is abandoned from further development, which is sad because many of us use this box as is (and I must say that apart from slower SoC, it performs in several ways better that praised AM6B+) and just don’t understand why is a perfectly working .dtb removed from device_trees folder.
Probably will not get an answer to this, so it will remain only a rhetorical question of a disappointed long time CE user.

If you follow the forum you should notice the reason. If not then check the commit logs.

I do follow the forum, but have not noticed the reason, and the answer to “check the commit logs” to find the reason is as sad as dealing .dtb files in forum topics,

Then you need to improve your following…

I love your answer, it finally explains everything to me :+1:

Only it still is not clear to me why is .dtb removed in present versions, since it is working perfectly well with all published versions till today…

DTBs files availability are not a big deal, anyone can find them from archive files.
As long as drivers’ packages are installed, it will keep working just fine.

I am concerned just with -ng branch, and that is why I’m trolling and comparing it and finding it a better performer than a AM6B+. I have both boxes side by side and with completely the same and identical setup, I daily use G1 because it does and plays everything the same as AM6B+, and because:
My G1 has a faster and more dependable ethernet.
My G1 NEVER loses HDMI signal, which my AM6B+ very annoyingly randomly does.
My G1 reboots and shuts down instantly, while my AM6B+ takes about 60-90 sec to do, and sometimes only after second/third attempt.
Apart from that, not concerned with CE, it has an Widevine L1 certified Android, and it costs 3x less…

Yeah, me too actually now I only use NG image OS. And I will have it connected with LG OLED (already on its way as a Christmas gift for myself)
But the reboot and shut down issues, I don’t know if it has something to do with USB connected devices, because I saw recently longer boot times like 30 sec and it used to be 10 sec, also the same issues with shutdown, the device reboots when shutdown is applied.
though, I have no issues with some clean images from around mid of October.
Do you use the latest nightly image on G1 or another one?

I have no USB connected devices on any of them. I’m using cpm.A10 version on both boxes, connected to my LG Oled.
