Yep, I mean only the USB drive that has all data and OS, as reboot and shutdown issues are more likely related to USB or the software changes which make compatibility problems .

Brand new kinhank rev D with 20241118 nightly -ng build and @MrMind dtb (no artifacts for now)
Before that it dont. I just changed few time the cec CE settings to derust and get it working.
Subtiles still slow to load or never load. I have to stop movie and restart and then it show immediately the srt sub selected

I am sure that either your CE installation is faulty or damaged, or your card is faulty.
I have amb6+, that booted 20s, and my homatics boxes, those booted 25 sec, not as you wrote.
Secondly the ugoos menu performance is better like the 905x4.
Third, some filetypes not support the 905x4, however the 922 support.
I have no any single problem with reboots.

I have a rev D model, I installed CoreELEC-Amlogic-ng.arm-21.1.1-Omega_nightly_20241121-Generic.img.gz + (sha256) 8dce97e2bf762d13af5c19fba82ef0738207615b3dc8f47e50b3f64d678fdf69 sc2_s905x4_kinhank_g1_new_revision.dtb + dovi.ko
and I still get the white artifacts.
Is there a way to download a nightly build from previous days ? I can’t try the 20241118 nightly you talk about.

New rev or the cut down version (100M) are S905X4 rev D.
All X4 rev D are affected including the vanilla version (non DV)
for those interlaced / VC1 video files use NE or ATV

By the way, I found at least one video that have lags on G1 caused by FEL rendering.
The truman show at around 15 min when truman encounters his homeless father. I’m wondering if Ugoos AM6B Plus has the same lags.

Activation of (MEL) “minimal enhancement compatibility” setting in CE ng stable version doesn’t give any lag. IIRC the setting is in “Player” section of settings :
available options are p8 / (MEL) “minimal enhancement compatibility” / (FEL) “Lossless” and a 4th one I think.
The settings seems absent in the nightly, at least in Amlogic-ng.arm-21.1.1-Omega_nightly_20241121-Generic.
When FEL (lossless) is activated, I didn’t found better way than pausing the video, moving to the specific time then unpause, that gives a black screen for few seconds then resumes correctly.
It does the same on Dual layer mp4 remuxes on LG C8, moving to a specific time needs also a kind of resync after unpausing.
I never wrote or compared boot speeds, as they don’t concern me at all…

Just to finalize the discussion about dropping the dtb, the icing on the cake is the fully loaded device with retrogaming roms and the profit gained with the work of our brother project Emuelec. Too many red flags, sorry.

OK, so you are punishing owners of G1, because the sellers of this box are crooks.
I do understand why there won’t be -no G1 versions, but just don’t understand why removing it from a dead -ng version, as this is the only version/reason for buying G1.
Is G1 the only box with such faith, or were there some before?
Not only is Kinhank’s primary business piracy, but they steal from CoreELEC and EmuELEC by using their code without permission.
It’s not as though this wasn’t mentioned before multiple times. But people here keep preferring to save $20 rather than support open source projects, by avoiding the most crooked company selling Amlogic boxes.
I know all that, but this will not stop with CE dropping support for G1, which isn’t part of their piracy work.
And people buying G1 are not aware of the kind of crooks the are buying it from, but seek a cheap solution to run DV-FEL, which they still can. So what is the point in making their first experience with CE an obstacle ride?

CE and EE has no power to do anything against Kinhank for all the boxes using it’s code without permission. They do have to power to say they won’t support any of their products in protest of the companies general disrespect.
And people that support this project have the power to do the same by not buying their products or promoting them to others.
That would be the way the LE project “initiated” CoreElec fork. I am sure such things will not happen in CE environment.
My question to you as a frequent poster here and someone that has multiple boxes using CE, why do you keep supporting Kinhank and the G1 by asking for support for it here. Does their theft not bother?
I am not asking for any support for G1, just commenting that dtb images for it have to be dealt as “drugs on street corners”.
I use G1 and have good reasons to use it besides my AM6B+, but did not, nor will at any time ask for any support from CE team concerning G1.
The reason I started this conversation is the number of mails I get to supply dtb.img for G1. I didn’t even know that it is removed from CE-ng nightlies…

You’re free to consume it (the drug), we don’t provide it. It’s simple.
Including delivery its not just 20$ but 2 or 3 times the cost for AM6B+ … And not only 20$ but because homatics do not have sdcard, duneHD worse soft support, ugoos is not certified and ugoos have lot of issues too…
