Yes, you need USB UART TTL and soldering iron
I have both. But I know few people here have emmc tool. The uart solution would be appropriate to discuss on this forum.
- Copy bootloader.img from hungphutho to SDCARD
- Insert SDCARD to your G1 SDCARD slot
- Connect PC to G1 using UART
- Open Putty or similar with speed 921600
- Turn on G1 after 2s then short the D0 testpoint wait until # prompt appear
- Downgrade your bootloader with command sdc_update bootloader bootloader.img
- Make sure downgrade successful
- Done
this test point also work for me
Thanks for the tutorial
Thank you so much.
Can I ask, I assume this bootloader.img - can be found somewhere in this thread?
It may be too late, but can you show a picture of where you connected the UART to the G1? Did you have to solder? [edit – I do see the GND, Rx, Tx, Gnd to the left of your photo - that is fine]
Thanks
#501 post
here:
Thanks
I need to get some things right
1- this file bootloader.img for ATV11 or ATV12 ?
2- what UART you use? Is it possible to have a picture for clarification?
3- only copy file bootloder.img or write with tool to sdcard?
1 . android 11 , currently no 12 for G1
2 . USB 2.0 to TTL
3 . only copy , no write
this steps not for unlock bootloader ATV12 after update?
Reading first line of instructions from post #727 again would be of great help
“1. Copy bootloader.img from hungphutho to SDCARD”
ATV12 ?
There is no ATV12, after update it is still ATV11
Currently, there is only android 11, instead of 12, 14 will come next February (other source).
The last OTA update fixed the adaptive HDR switch and locked the bootloader!
But V11 remains!
Sorry I got lost, I thought it was a Dune Homatics device.
I want to try on the weekend
Need to get order of operations
2 files here bootloader images
What is the 7zip compressed img
Is different than the other?
So first step is to edit image with hex editor?
Then copy to micro SD card
Then u-art with serial adapter
Downgrade Bootloader
After success
CoreELEC will boot now?
Or now can/ must flash hungphutho custom Rom
So CoreELEC will boot
The .7z file contains already edited “bootloader.img” ready to use; no need to edit it.
After success, flash custom Rom to use CE and Android without worrying to be blocked again.
Power off doesn’t work in coreelec, it just reboot & is there a power off apk for android? I use my lg remote via cec that’s why these two are important to me. Thanks.
There are several of them, I use “Power Menu Shortcut – Shutdown-1.3.7.apk”.
