Looking for users with no working WiFi or BT

Thank you for your great work.

Hello to everyone,
I really need a little help to the new X96 Mini

it seems they change the wifi module.

no wifi and no bluetooth… and when reboot or poweroff, they kill the processes, i have black screen, but the light remains blue. Only if i disconnect from power and connect again, the box reboot.

Maybe you’re just to fast. When such QCA module is found it loads the driver and restart the conman service. This maybe take a while. The log shows no problem or I do not find any. I guess you have to live what you bought (cheap)

Thats weird, the device ran for about an hour, but the wifi connections were dead whole time. Like in picture I sent above.

If they disappear again go back to main window in Kodi and try to execute systemctl restart connman. What a bit and check again in CE settings if the networks back again. If yes please enable kodi debug logging and do it again. Then upload kodi debug files: How to post debug logs

X96 Mini users with SDIO_ID=3030:3030:
Please setup 19.1_Matrix_rc2 stable first!

If Matrix is running please update with this tar:
CoreELEC-Amlogic-ng.arm-19.1-Matrix_devel_20210412115501.tar

It include a updated SSV6XXX_SDIO driver and maybe works.

Please post a log by:
dmesg | paste

Would there be any chance of this one becoming operational under CE?
Or is it just not possible/too much fuzz/else ?

If i can assist with any other info needed, pls let me know.

Thanks.

As u wrote. Connections empty, but with command: systemctl restart connman everything works flawlessly. Here are debug logs:
Before command (not working): http://ix.io/2VQQ
After command (working): http://ix.io/2VQR

And they stay online? Also after a hour?
So it happen that sometimes the WLAN are not found after a reboot or are they visible and disappear?

After a hour seems to be everything still ok.

  • if the list doesnt load after boot, …after 1 min, 5 min, 1 hour, list is still empty.
  • but if the list loads after boot (or after systemctl restart connman command), it still holds. Everything seems to be ok.

btw I have 4/32GB version, my friend has 4/64GB version - same issues

@Dzimmi please update with this image:
CoreELEC-Amlogic-ng.arm-19.1-Matrix_devel_20210412202424.tar

Please reboot multiple times and check if it is working now.
Please post also the output of:
journalctl -u connman
one time if it does not work, and one time if it worked and the wlans are visible.

EDIT:
@Dzimmi I had a typo in the test image. Just delete it and download this image for the tests:
CoreELEC-Amlogic-ng.arm-19.1-Matrix_devel_20210412203548.tar

EDIT2:
Please post also the output of:

udevadm info /sys/bus/sdio/devices/*

first image, works all 10/10 restarts/shutdowns, Log is here: http://ix.io/2VRo
Booting is maybe about 20 seconds slower.

Now i will try new image.

second tar file:

5x doesnt work

Hello and thank you @Portisch for your help.

In new x96 mini i first install 19.1_Matrix_rc2 stable and then update with [CoreELEC-Amlogic-ng.arm-19.1-Matrix_devel_20210412115501.tar], and i´m allready can reboot the box
remains No Bluetooth and no WiFi.
