Despite the name of that particular commit. The change there is not actually about dolby vision support. currently the code changes the hdr_policy to match the dolby_vision_policy so if it’s not set the way we want the hdr to work, we may get undesirable results with hdr on a display that supports dolby vision.
It’s likely there is still missing pieces in the pipeline to go from video file with dolby vision content and a dolby vision signal ending up being displayed properly on your tv.
I don’t have a tv that supports dolby vision (most of the other developers don’t either), and there is very little good public info about technical details required to properly support dolby vision. so that makes it difficult to test and work out the missing pieces at anything other then a very slow pace.
I would be happy to test anything required, my TV supports all the HDR formats, however I am led to believe DV is only available to devices who pay large licensing fees.

Hello, any news about the pixelations in those muxes of movistar? Today another channel has been added to the pixelations. In my case it is a kiipro s905. Is it solved with some compilation of coreelec nightly? Thanks greetings
Welcome. Please note that this is an English language forum so please write in English or use a translator. I added a translation for you.
You can try latest nightly, if you haven’t by now to see if the problem is solved.
@sammutd88@Alestilohomer do either of you have either the GT-King Pro or UGOOS AM6 Plus? because these are the only 2 devices currently available that are capable of DV playback.
anybody else experiencing kind of a grey screen crash (looks like in those days when there’s no signal on analog tv) after around 10 minutes of playback? I’m having it on my X96 Max Plus (S905X3).
I’m new at troubleshooting CoreElec, what is needed to take a look at it?
Since 2/3 days ago, I am having some issues playing LiveTV. Some channels doesn’t play smoothly, but in my enigma2 decoder they play ok, and I stream from it to the box, mobile, tablet, etc… in all the other devices I don’t have that problem.
My problem seems to be with 2 muxes, firstly one and now another one.
It’s not by poor quality, I am reading about it, and seems that something is changing in h264/h265 encode, and seems the same as the other post, pixelation goes off with new 4.9 kernel, same we are using on ng nightlies, but now we have that not smooth playback, judder.
sorry, my english is not the best. It starts playing, i can see the first about 20 seconds, then it heavily starts stuttering. i have no sound at all on that file. when it starts, it looks ok. but no sound.
i am just doing a md5sum on the file to verify it has been transfered correctly. the source file plays fine on my machine with vlc
edit: checksums are identical, so the file is ok. its a playback issue
