Nightly builds (NEW)

With the latest 20200210 nightly, the random but regular video picture slowdown seems to have disappeared.

Reboot with this new kernel (via skin, command or during a backup restore) still results in a power off and not a reboot.

Just tested on VIM3L on WNR3500L, WPA2 PSK (CCMP), no problem to connect to WLAN:

Wireguard? Finally, so nice to read.
Will it work on Odroid C2 builds too?
Any place I can read more details about the current implementation, development process?

Thats weird :-/

With stock 9.2 I am able to connect there… Anyone else has issues with wifi @VIM3L - NG?

Update: Since now, ondemand governor is not only included in kernel directly, but also default governor :+1:

(just note for those people who’s fought quite high temperature of some cheap chinese 905X3 boxes)

There was a fair bit of debate on this and some testing done which showed temperatures are lower but it reduces initial GUI responsiveness after some time idling so we will add a setting in CE-settings to have performance governor as default for those who want it, 3.14 and RPi also use on-demand by default.

no sdr to hdr works with the current nightly build “20200210”.

with the current stable firmware sdr to hdr works

Unfortunately, with 20200212, the random slowdown has returned.

On the up side, for the first time ever on any version of *elec, volume setting remains as set by user is retained after a reboot, rather than defaulting to maximum.

It feels like cpu throttling, the governor mentioned above. However I can’t find the setting to disable it on the N2.

not here. i have 9.2.1 stable on odroid n2 and volume remains as set by user after reboot.

Not using latest nightly yet, but I have a small issue that seem to come and go. Not sure if it’s build related: I usually leave vim3 on a network location when I send it to suspend via CEC. A lot of the times when it wakes up on TV power (it sometimes does and sometimes I have to press the power button), It shows “Network unreachable” popup error and goes back to main locations menu. From there it has no problem to browse to my saved network locations.

Same here with volume.
Its an issue with persistent setting which get carried over in rolling updates, the way to cure it is to perform a fresh install and set everything up from scratch. I had a similar issue with my VIM2 forgetting my VIM Toneboard as the default sink and the only thing that cured it was a fresh install.

Hello,

I have this version: CoreELEC (official): nightly_20200203 (Amlogic-ng.arm)

And I can’t upgrade to the last nithly since 2 weeks. i try to download manually and reboot:

cd .update/
wget https://relkai.coreelec.org/CoreELEC-Amlogic-ng.arm-9.2-
nightly_20200212.tar
reboot

But it continue in the same version: nightly_20200203 (Amlogic-ng.arm)

My box is a X96Max.

Kind regards.

What happen after reboot? Do you see any message on TV regarding update? Does wget even downloads tar file successfully?

If you have this issue then the simplest solution is to manually download the file on a PC and use Samba to place it into the upgrade folder which is normally exposed on a CE samba share.
It happens quite regularly that the auto upgrade of nighlies temporarily breaks but this solution ALWAYS works.

I deactivated the CEC adapter in the settings, but the box (VIM3L) keeps on waking up after a while by itself. When I disconnect the HDMI (to the TV) cable, it won’t. How is this possible?

Did you also deactivate CEC on your TV ?

You have to activate and set this value to ‘0’:

This is used for CEC wake up handling.
That the system is using this value bl301 needs to be injected, search the how-tos.

Hello,

This is what I get after download:

After the installation, it always start with nightly_20200203 version.

If you need more info or logs about my device, just ask for it.

Regards.

jlazkano, today you need to use https://relkai.coreelec.org/CoreELEC-Amlogic-ng.arm-9.2-nightly_20200213.tar

After update type command

cat /storage/init-previous.log
