Check what cs and cd is used with dispinfo.

Or dispinfo command while playing the video.

SSH to your box and run dispinfo, then post the URL here.

Yeah it was captured with it-keytble so will try UART route as need to try and understand what is happening with the Bluetooth Hotack_RC as it is also not functioning correctly within CoreELEC also.

Been using the aboxwireless.evmap as that is for Hotack_RC but the button mapping is a bit off and the ok/enter button does not register anything, I say anything it has worked perfectly twice but after reboot back to not picking up ok/enter which makes it non usable. As /etc is no writable so will maybe have to clone and mess around with the maps or edit the filesystem prior to flashing.

I have a few nodemcu lying around that look flashable for UART so just need to dig some female to female jumpers and have a look at getting that going to start with

Thanks again, E.

I confirm the bug …

On the top : GT1 -> Color space OK
On the buttom : N2 -> Color space Error

Don’t claim it is a Colorspace issue because it isn’t!

I can’t see a difference in your photos because I’m looking from my phone. Although I can imagine it is like the banding issue we had with dithering.

Just to confirm… ir-keytable -p NEC -t doesn’t respect actual protocol used by remote. Even non-NEC remotes are interpreted and shows some codes, although wake-up won’t work here.
To determine if remote is really useful for IR-wakeup event it has to generate uart output @ poweroff/suspend.
Now, my real-NEC-remote is working fine and wakin’ up N2 properly.

Theory :
The banding is present because the source is YUV422, while N2 is set to YUV444. No problem on my GT1 because it switches on the right parameter of “coulour space”, YUV422.

@Bindou 444, 422 and 420 actually refer to the chroma subsampling. All movie and TV material is mastered at 4:2:0 chroma which is what your source is (not 422) and playing them back at anything but that is kind of pointless anyway but shouldn’t cause any problems.

@Ray I remember OSMC had a similar problem with banding for some users.

OSMC Thread

Long thread but worth a read.

Strangely, I had the same problem with the GT1 when Automatic Color Space / Color Depth Switching did not work. However, I do not know if it’s related. I will read this carefully.

It would still be interesting to remove the doubt, trying to adjust the color space on YUV422.

This is not related to what you said. The banding issue was due to dithering.

Because the protocol was enabled before. You need “-c” option to clean previous settings.

@Ray the latest build devel-1555851841 seem to be having issues for me, general navigation around the interface seems to be hanging and pausing every few seconds, tried rebooting no difference going to try a fresh install later.

Thanks for the confirmation around ir-keytable picking up other protocols and showing a command, that was my guess but have not set up UART yet as need some cables not arriving till tomorrow.

The wiki/GitHub says it will recognise other protocols if specified so will need to figure out what the Hotack is spitting out, think it may be rc6 for it to power up my Mecool box as it was a separate purchase and just worked so thinking rc6 is a widely used protocol and may have been in the Mecool uboot.

Before getting UART, if it is useful in this scenario, can I set ir-keytable to rc6 protocol like the command above but replacing with rc6 to try and capture? Not at home or would give it a try but will be good to know for when I get back in

@Ray so a clean install of devel-1555851841 seems to have solved the major stuttering and pausing when navigating, however this release just doesn’t feel as smooth as the last one devel-1555651433

Not sure what it was. I think I just set the config for SD paranoid probing. Trying to fix SD issues.

The latest release seem to of fixed the
Hd live tv playback.

Overall looks solid.

Matt

Nope, it’s back. Lol

Updated to latest release, 1080i live tv still shows as 1080p and periodically pauses video for a few seconds before catching back up.

With new update (1555851841) I had some problems watching HBO-Go; lost subtitles, audio out of sync, and addon crashed and rebooted CoreElec. There was no crush log, only got kodi.old.log if you can see something useful in it: kodi.old.zip (6.6 KB)

Edit: watching .mkv movies from local USB/HD has more frequent “breaks” that is it stops for a fraction of a second and “timeline” appears for a brief time. It happens about twice during a 45 min tv series.

Most stable (without problems) version in my case was “CoreELEC-Amlogic-ng.arm-9.0-devel-1555398703_catoon_fix”
