Odroid N2 test builds

With bypass_all disabled horizontal line interlace artifacts are added to content marked as interlaced yet not really interlaced. This sample displays fine using software decoder /w deinterlacing disabled and also using hardware decode with bypass_all enabled.
ds9p_10.mkv (3.5 MB)

Content both marked interlaced and actually interlaced is deinterlaced yet there are still horizontal line artifacts visible when bypass_all is disabled.
ds9i_10.mkv (3.5 MB)

With bypass_all enabled both of the samples above look fine. Horizontal lines are not visible at all and they look great. Yet there are still minor weird things happening. Following sample is marked interlaced yet not interlaced. Notice jagged edges around large orange text. This disappears when bypass_all is disabled and does not show up in software decoder with deinterlace disabled.
mb_7.mkv (3.2 MB)

sorry, which ones are the latest now or have the most improvements?!

Minimal recommended in https://test.coreelec.org/Odroid_N2/
Most recent is nightly in https://relkai.coreelec.org/
In personal directories there are some special images for test

I no longer have issues. I am using the latest test build not yours but the mainline test build. Thanks.

Yes some of my builds have weird experiments. One with GUI improvements introduced av sync issues. The other one with irqbalancer introduced picture jumping back and forth in a loop.
My builds are not recommended to run as daily driver. If those work I merge my code into official CE so you get the good stuff eventually.

Hi, Corelec did not install the drivers from repo

You may already know that the AV1 codec is badly managed on N2.

Results of my tests :
Only 480p videos pass. The 720p and 1080p jerks. And the 4K and 8K do not pass at all.

It seems to me that the S922x does not support the AV1. But do you think that it will be possible to obtain interressant performances with the software part ? At least for the 1080p ?

@Ray please for next nightly? or tell me how i can include the drivers if possible.

Hello,

when I use the Zattoo PVR-client, the channel informations are shown at the bottom every 15 seconds for 3 seconds. This behavior is only shown on my Odroid N2. My Odroid C2 does not show this behavior.

(The lastest nightly of ā€œrelkaiā€ is installed on the N2)

Cheers
Mark

Hi,

Hope iā€™m writing in the right thread.

I have a problem where I can not download subtitles via opensubtitles addon after the CE is iddle for about 5 mins. The dialog will say downloading subtitles and just sits there.

If I restart CE and try to download subtitle - it just work fine. After about 5 mins (screensaver kicks in) I try again and it will stop working completely.

Here is my log where I start CE and do nothing for 5-6mins and then try to download subtitles:
https://paste.kodi.tv/etoxogexiq.kodi

Iā€™m in Australia where opensubtitles website is blocked. To prevent this I use static IP address and have changed DNS server in CE to (google) 8.8.8.8.

PS: Great job in getting CE running on Odroid N2 so fast.

Just did the installtommc script, went well. Running from emmc now.

Thanks

Not gonna happen. Iā€™m having a weekend too. I have no idea what changed and I have not looked into this.

@Ray

The new cable seems to have cured my black screen problems which is good  Quick question, does the latest build:

https://test.coreelec.org/Odroid_N2/CoreELEC-Amlogic-ng.arm-9.0-devel-1556153587-Odroid_N2.img.gz

Incorporate the RC6 power on fix?

I donā€™t remember but use @relkai nightly. Those are official nightlies.

Iā€™m Sorry ray I wrongly assumed you were working on the n2 builds over the weekend, everybody needs down time.

Didnā€™t want to sound rude. Your issue is as important as any other. I just see a lot of issues and I need to prioritize.

It seems to me that the S922x does not support the AV1.

S922Xā€™s Amlogic Video Engine (AVE-10) supports MVC, MPEG-1/2/4, VC-1/WMV, AVS, AVS+, AVS2 RealVideo, MJPEG streams, H.264, H265-10 and VP9.
AV1 hardware acceleration isnā€™t supported.

Sure I get that, I really do, I wonā€™t mention it again and just wait until you get time to take a look. Apologies again if I was pushy.

And on the software side, do you think we can optimize more for the AV1?

No. The developers are not magicians. Donā€™t expect 4k or 8k ever.
