Odroid N2 test builds

I noticed the same behaviour … at least when dealing with the problematic uboot (k)nightlies, and the followup fixes …
But in my case it was even wearder because I am always disabling dhcp and using fixed-IP-addresses and suddenly all my devices went back to dhcp and therefore a different IP … but I think this problem is gone now.

Yeah I got a little stumped on that. All I have are notebooks so I had to go out and rustle up a USB keyboard/mouse to set up my box. Would be better if ssh was enabled out of the gate, but they don’t seem to be willing to change that. Not a big deal, not like I often have to set up a new install.

A question about WakeOnLAN:
I’ve read that with activated WOL the stand by power consumption will increase.
I didn’t use WOL and so I will deactivate this function.

I found in the boot.ini

setenv wol “1”

Is that the right way, if I set this value to “0”
Or how can I do that?

Edit the /flash/config.ini instead because the boot.ini is reset on each upgrade.
You must do a:
mount -o remount,rw /flash
first if you edit config.ini with ssh

It will only increase in poweroff and suspend. Although it is minor.

Noticed a small bug with Analog Audio.
But don’t know when it appeared.
I’m using Analog Audio.
Each time Corelec update I have residual sound on the HDMI output.(same sounds than Analog but with low level and very bad quality)
I have to select HDMI output then reselect Analog audio to have no sound on the HDMI output.
Not a big deal however.

Edit proper section in config.ini :

  • WOL Setting for Odroid N2, 0=off/1=on

Just got my Odroid-N2. Installed latest nightly build… testing…
Configuration: Odroid-N2 connected by HDMI to Denon AVR and Denon AVR of course connected to Panasonic TV.
Previously the same configuration with Odroid-C2 without issues described below:
Issue 1 with Odroid-N2: stop, pause buttons are not responsive.
Issue 2 with Odroid-N2: during playback when TV is switched off and switched on again Kodi is stop responding for any CEC keys, screen is frozen - playback is not contiuning…
Issue 3 with Odroid-N2: switching source to TV and then back to HDMI 2 cause Odroid-N2 is not responding for any CEC keys.

CEC Adapter settings are the same as in Odroid-C2:
Enabled - on
Switch source to this device on startup - off
Devices to power on during startup - None
Devices to power off during startup - None
Send “Inactive source” command on shutdown - off
Put devices in standby mode when activating the screensaver - off
Wake devices deactivating the screensaver - off
When the TV is switched off - Ignore
Devices to also put in standby mode - off
Use the TV’s language setting - off
Action when switching to another source - Pause Playback
Physical address (overrules HDMI port) - 0

Exactly at 23:00 I have changed the source on my TV to TV and then back to HDMI 2 and since then N2 doesn’t respond for CEC

second log collected in the following scenario:
TV on
Amplifier on
Odroid-N2 rebooted
Result: not responding for CEC

third log collected. contain the action of TV turned off at 23:19:59 and turned on again in few seconds. Result: N2 still doesn’t respond for CEC keys.

Couldn’t understand from the thread - are the boot problems resolved? I’ve been holding off on updates for the past week.
If so, should I update directly to the latest nightly?

yeah, the boot problems are resolved!

This looks a libCEC problem. Your TV is a Panasonic.
When your TV get detected by libCEC it changes the CEC address from 1 to 4.
After that nothing more does happen.

I guess it is better to go over to https://github.com/Pulse-Eight/libcec/issues and make a new issue.

Is there anything what can be fixed by you or this is a problem out of CoreELEC?
Interesting is that there are no such issues when I connect Odroid-C2 instead of Odroid-N2. Especially issue 2 is annoying. Are you able to reproduce that scenario?

It is a issue by libCEC & Panasonic TV. I can’t reproduce as I do not have your TV (brand, type) :wink:
Maybe Panasonic changed something in newer models as the commit is from 2012…
Just open an issue and use the log above I posted and descripe your problem.
When libCEC is fixed we can include the changes in our build.

Make the same log also for the C2 please - I will compare it with the N2.
