Copy that, trying it now.
Thank you for the insight!
Edit: hooked it up to DV TV and now can see the Dolby Vision options.
Progress! Thanks again!
Edit 2: able to play DV 8.1 no problem.
However, when playing a DV 7 file, I see a popup that connection is not fast enough, and the video skips around and stutters…trying to research this now.
Edit 3: I saw it was recommended to increase cache size. Did so, and am not seeing the slow connection pop up. DV7 is now playing properly.
Thanks for the insight. I was googling the issue last night and didn’t see the above posts in the results.
It looks like some people resolved this by running HDMI from AM6 to TV, then TV to AVR.
I tried this in the past with my shield, and was unable to get it working properly…no sound out of AVR, video stuttering.
Just tried again with the AM6b and am seeing the same issue. No audio out of AVR and high bitrate videos skipping around.
My receiver is a Denon s760h, TV is LG CX, HDMI cables are Belkin 2.1 certified.
Current layout:
AM6b+ >> CX (HDMI 3; not eARC port) >> CX (HDMI 2; eARC) >> AVR
It does appear that many people have experienced issues with eARC on the CX…maybe this just isn’t something I’m capable of doing with my current setup.
Anyone have a similar setup and care to share their video/audio/ARC/eARC settings?
Edit: in case anyone comes by this, what worked for me (somewhat anyways) was: unplugging all devices from TV, then plug in AVR (eARC AVR port to eARC TV port), then plug in AM6 to TV.
I am getting sound now at least. However, there still seems to be some audio sync issue. Almost seems like the audio is playing too early now, as opposed to delayed. I’ve tried rebooting, adjusting HDMI input/output PCM/bitstream/passthrough/auto, Auto Lip syn, manual audio delay adjust. Can’t find a consistent fix. Will continue troubleshooting, and update this post if I find a consistent/permanent/global fix.
I’m also have some extremely annoying lip sync issues with the ugoos and hoping someone can offer up a magic fix that will help solve it once and for all!
My setup is
Ugoos AM6b+ to TV (Sony A95)
TV to AVR (Denon X3700H) via eARC
Running PM4K on latest Kodi nightly build
It seems that if i set -50ms audio offset in kodi (with auto lip sync on the TV & AVR set to off) then audio is fairly well in sync generally but anytime i pause or fast forward the audio goes out of sync and i need to rewind to fix the issue (even audio jumpback addon didn’t fully solve it) additionally whenever I’m watching a TV series and a new episode automatically begins playing it also starts with audio sync problems.
This is highly infuriating and really spoils the enjoyment i get from the player when i constantly have to mess around with settings during playback so hoping there is a simple fix i can apply?
Every post regarding lip sync issues I have seen here seem to have a Denon receiver involved. I have no sync problems with eARC from LG C3 to either a Samsung soundbar or a Marantz receiver.
I have an AM6B+ connected to a denon x2600 and another connected to a x2800. No major issues, the very few times I had sound sync problems, all I had to do was rewind or fast forward a bit and the issues would go away and not return. So, nope, Denon is not the problem.
Hi all,
my AM6b+ arrived yesterday.
Did USB install to emmc, all went good.
I do however have playback issue with everything i try. Be it local NAS, net streams from plugins or from USB drives. Whichever type of video i choose, mkv, mp4, streams, my rips from Blu-ray, they all heavily stutter from the start. I have caching enabled with setting suggested here in the thread, 64MB, adaptive, cache all with local, but when looking at debug info cache is not filling up. It starts to fill up after some 20-30 seconds, goes a bit then suddenly empties and again doesn’t start to fill up fore some seconds.
I tried several caching settings, none help.
I have Dune/Homatics and N2+ boxes also, they both work without such issues. N2+ has been rock solid for 2 years now, Dune last 2 months.
Also, local Synology NAS, i can see it but accessing it is extremely slow, every subfolder takes 5-10 seconds to open, sometimes it hangs and i have to reboot the box. Again, with Dune and N2+ there are no such issues.
The only diference is that Ugoos is running nightly 21.1 20240717 version of CE as suggested, Dune and N2+ are stable versions.
Any suggestion is appreciated.
Installed latest stable 21.0 build and everything works fine now.
It’s not similar. He didn’t have issues with HD videos.
In my case any type of video was affected, 480/720/1080/4K resolutions, mkv, mp4, avi, whatever.
Also, there is an issue with LAN connection and local LAN browsing.
With network cable attached, I can’t scan local network, PCs or Synology NAS.
When I select any LAN source in the file manager, I just get “connection timeout” or the box would freeze.
But, streaming online works fine.
With wireless, everything works fine.
Tried resetting everything, changing LAN cables, router ports, didn’t help.
This issue is present in latest stable and nightly versions.
Just to inform you about an issue found, while wathing movies with dual layer dolby vision, in format M2TS and ISO.
The playback is amazing, however, when I jump a chapter or, if a forward or rewind the movie, the audio gets out of sync, and starts to have stutters on the video, and the only way to fixe it, is to restart the movie.
While using JRE BD menus, when I use the chapter select to jump to a chapter, curiously, the out sync audio and stutter doesnt ocurred, just a tip maybe to you so check how to fix it.
The only way to make philips hue to work with tv led is using a receiver that has 2 hdmi outputs.
I use a denon x3800h.
Hdmi 1 out directly to tv.
Hdmi 2 out to philips sync box.
I still need to use the dolby vision compatability mode option for colors to match but that doesnt matter since you get uncompressed signal directly to tv through hdmi 1
