My Tencent Aurora 5X won’t boot from USB and I don’t know how he does it.
I’ve tried long and short presses, and one time it worked, but I have no idea how I got it to work.
The 5X does not support CE with stock Android.
You need to modify the bootloader environment so booting is enabled. This must be done by open the device and use UART.
What do I do? Any video links?
There does no how to exist.
Boot to Android and insert USB device.
Then dump/dev/env to env.bin on USB device.
Then you are able like in Ubuntu to modify this env.bin with fdtput and fdtget.
My 5X just died because the internal 5V are dead.
Do all users of CoreELEC on the Tencent Aurora 5X have to do this???
Maybe the Chinese Android do support it out of the box, no idea.
I bought it on the Chinese platform and it doesn’t seem to be working.
I’ve gotten into CoreELEC a couple times the last couple times, but I don’t know how.
But it doesn’t seem to help It shows the CoreELEC screen but it doesn’t work. I’m trying to set ‘coreelec=textmode’ in the config file, hopefully that works because I haven’t booted from a USB drive all day today.

The short “white noise” after pause will happen by TrueHD?
I think kodi fill in some “zero” samples to get in sync with video and this make the noise I guess.

I do have env partition dump which allows booting from USB. If this is needed.
There are more than 70 Aurora 5X using CoreELEC.
So I think just the correct Android firmware is need to be able to boot CoreELEC from USB.
