I finally got my Ugoos AM8 Pro installed (latest CE21-ne nightly) and just did some very quick tests.
Looks like I have an audio issue also with non-bitstreamed tracks like multichannel FLAC. Either there is no sound, or the sound that comes out is very, very quiet and sounds like it was slowed down a lot (like played back at an incorrect sample rate).
CE team, please let me know if you need any logs or any specific tests, I’m happy to help you out. Also, is it okay to use a backup from an NG device or should I set most of the things up from scratch?
Hello
I did everything as described in the instructions, almost everything worked directly, but when starting coreelec the message appears that the Linux kernel in Android 11 is not up to date, which is not true. What have I done wrong?
You need to copy dovi.ko manually to the device as written above.
do i have to rename the file to dovi.ko?
yes, “ugoos.am8.dovi.ko” → you have to rename it “dovi.ko”.
Done, it works fine. Thanks a lot
The kernel of the Ugoos AM8 pro is not compatible with Dolby Vision. Does this happen to anyone else? Is there a solution? Thank you…
Is it really so hard to do little reading before posting such questions?
Hello everybody from Romania. Newbie here. Read it all carefully.
Which Build of Corelec is best performing for AM8Pro, now? 21 or 22? Any pros/cons, +/- between 21 and 22 nightlies? Cheers.
LaterEdit - Nevermind, I installed CE22, will report here my findings.
Later Edit2 - Functioning, DolbyVision too, side-usb installed 2.5GbE ethernet adapter, fast network.
LaterEdit3 - Working, could not setup Proftpd, the GUI settings are too scarce, gave up. Another peculiarity, it is not auto-updating. I have to manually download updates and copy them over samba to update directory. From there it is automatically installed next boot.
Later Edit 4 _ Does anybody know why this version of Kodi “P” does not feature, during playback, subtitle character set switching, like Kodi Omega Does?
LaterEdit5 - All functional so far, problem with LACK of Proftpd setting for external usb disk sharing.

Hello, thank you for your continued support.
But I have a problem.
The device is am8 - coreceelec21 - latest night version.
1- The bluetooth does not connect properly with the ur02 remote.
2- - The most important problem - when advancing the movie 10 seconds, annoying interference appears.
Here a test file CE-21 for AM8 to test audio items.
HBR audio like TrueHD passthrough should work now. Also analog audio and Multi-PCM, maybe.
Please have a test:
Just tested the build ! Both DTS-HD and TrueHD format works !
Thank you very much

Works for me, at least TrueHD/Atmos bitstreaming is good and also multichannel PCM audio decoded from FLAC or Opus tracks is output properly.
A problem with DoVi though - my profile 8.1 encodes (H265) either give a black screen right from the start or do a display something → black screen → display something → black screen. When there is something displayed, it looks good. On the Ugoos AM6b+ these work fine.
Try swapping out the HDMI cable now that it’s using more bandwidth bitstreaming?
The same cable works with the AM6b+…
