I need help with one topic. I have successfully paired the UR02, installed remoteconfi2 and everything working as expected. However, with the Chapter up and down buttons, they don’t allow me to add those as alternative buttons within Kodi’s Keymap Editor. Just to be clear, the buttons work; however, when selecting them within Keymap Editor, they default to the exaxt same code. I have successfully set Red button as “stop”, purple button as “Global search”, brown and blue as “3min skip back” and “3min skip forward”, yellow as “pause/play” which was default, and green as “subs on/off”. Grey power button as learned from Ugoos remote 1. I was hoping Chapter up and down could be set to an alternative within Kodi’s Keymap Editor. What am I missing? Should I be editing the RemoteConf file, or am I misinterpreting something. Because it was a grey button, I also figured it could “learn”; however, I have used all buttons from original remote so I don’t need to learn another button technically. I am just trying to set default Ch+ and Ch- to something else with Keymap Editor. Is there a solution? Worked for all the bottom (colored) buttons, but not for the Ch+ and Ch- button. Any help is appreciated. Thank you. Otherwise, I very happy with the UR02. The ability to just “stop” content without pulling up onscreen menu, or using “sub” off and on, is gamechanger for Kodi control for me.
Now that I think about it, I technically may have two additional buttons if the Ch+ and Ch- issue can be solved. The Mic button as well as one of the back buttons. The grey back button and the black back button, as basically the same as I understand it. If I find I need another one or two hot keys, I presume I will be able to use. Hopefully the Ch+ and Ch- can be a scroll button up and down for navigation, but at this point, just auto defaults to the same 5-digit code for both. Now that I typed that, I am wondering if this is an IR/BT thing…damn. Will test that. Or any info that I may be missing. How creative have you all got with UR02 for Kodi interaction?
UPDATE1: So…Ch+ and Ch- down function as IR buttons, so probably late to party on that knowledge. That it is why it is auto defaulting to same button in Keymap Editor. Is there a way to change that in the remoteconf, or similar to give me a few more buttons to leverage?
UPDATE2 for @CityCobra’s question that I learned after dealing with my issue. Not seeing how to change buttons from IR to BT (hopefully there is a way, so I can add Ch+ and Ch- as editabe): The way I understand IR/BT, once you connect the remote as BT, the remote is going to handle the IR or BT issues, or which buttons are IR and which are BT. At least that is how it works for me. Maybe the initial power button if you set that to grey power button via learning from original, you may have to use IR to turn Ugoos box on, but then within a few seconds BT should connect for all other buttons as you don’t need line of sight. If you have BT and IR working, I assume remote will default with BT since it is in a sense the same button press, maybe BT overrides it being a double press???, but not sure. That is how mine is working. Once I “trust/connected”, it has been working perfectly, other than my minor issue above with the Ch+/Ch- keys auto defaulting.
If you are having trouble with BT, I would try to pair again, and Trust/connect. The first time I did it, the BT screen is all wonky, especially if there are a bunch of BT signals in your area. My screen was finding new and freaking the hell out, once I re-paired the remote to the Ugoos box, all was good, even after turning Ugoos box off. It would start right back up with IR, and then auto pair with BT.
