CPM stuff is not included.

IMHO we do need it because the SAMSUNG is not a DV TV.
1.So to work around, we need Player-led HDR, we canā€™t use LLDV or TV-led without HDFURY faking EDID for us.
2.ATEME FIX by CPM is not in the nightlies yet afaik.
3.Conversion options to DV

Can someone eventually write the version number of working FW before update, and which is the version number after the update, to avoid bricking their G1 boxes?

anyone who had intention to buy KinHank G1 or already has one and is disappointed in KinHankā€™s decision, should voice their concerns on their Facebook Page. weā€™ve had like 7 people so far. Unless itā€™s google or Dolby forcing them, I donā€™t see a logical reason they would want to keep out coreelec.

And if it was Google that forced KinHanks hand then why would a KinHank representative write

ā€œIf youā€™re experiencing issues, such as being unable to run CoreELEC systems, or if the developer options are locked, please send your deviceā€™s SN number to support@kinhank.com. We will provide solutions.ā€

if they realise what they have and how much they can make allowing coreelec, surely they will do what it takes to allow coreelec to run.

Iā€™m hopeful weā€™ll get a response this week that they intend to unlock it for coreelec somehow. The more people letting them know , the more they will realise the demand.

I literally got two people to buy this and put this on a deal site. had some interest but told them itā€™s not what I thought it was anymore. No coreelec = no buy for me. they missed out on good momentum.

the facebook page is here for anyone who wants to write a message

My G1 arrives tomorrow. What should I do? Send it back? Iā€™m hoping the firmware is the old one. Since it wonā€™t be online out of the box, I working on being able to boot it up and then disable OTA updates. Correct? Then Iā€™m a bit confused where to go next. NG?

Iā€™ve added my voice to the FB page.

you normally have a little while before you need to send back. lets give them 3 days to see what they want to do (or can do).
It most likely the old firmware. Iā€™m not sure what is best course of action, if itā€™s worth keeping it.

Alright, same story as always. Just now they boldly advertise it.

Android TV 12 is a step forward, but it removed support for USB dacs.

Android TV 14 reenables support for USB dacs and even adds a bit perfect output mode enabling lossless audio including DSD to be sent without conversation.

Why not just calm down and wait and see what they offer to CoreELEC users as they posted. I expect the password on the developer mode was just a quick release trying to get HDR options out to there real client base of Android users. I appreciate them getting back to me right away with a password even if it didnā€™t work yet, and I do expect them to follow up on their post to help CE. No need to piss them off as they figure this all out.

Thanks, i reflash generic img then ssh is working now, but ethernet is still not working.

My Kinhank G1 the FW version number is 11.1.4 before update.

I think we email them simultaneously for both technical and Marketing Specialist purposes to be more effective.

support@kinhank.com

Marketing Specialist:

kinhank002@gmail.com
kinhank003@gmail.com

At all they donā€™t have working eth LAN on Kinhank G1 with Amlogic-ng:
Please test this dtb after update before to latest nightly 20240904!
sc2_s905x4_kinhank_g1.dtb (84.8 KB)
It does limit the LAN again to 100MBit like on Amlogic-ne.

When I got the adb password from support they told me

We are about to fix this issue, please be patient

So we should respect that they want to get this working.

The issue with the password was mine too I saw an i and an l until I had my wife look.

Itā€™s really cool how this is progressing, thanks to the CoreELEC team.

Iā€™m in the search of the most future-proof device, for my understanding the Ugoos AM6B+ is the straight forward option, but I was thinking in something more flexible in terms of have an updated Android certified version with Netflix all the streaming apps and also be able to make a dualboot with CoreELEC. Beign said that, I have pretty clear the DV FEL support is something that I will get with any of the suggested devices, but Iā€™m not only interested in DV for me is also important full pass-through support for any audio format, soā€¦

Can I expect all audio format pass-through just because I will use CoreELEC in any of those suggested devices? Or it will also depend on the firmware those mount.

I know Ugoos AM6B+ does, I also know that Dune Homatics does/will do with the ATV12 update (the moment it get stable), but what about the rest? I can live with limited audio pass-through running the TV Box streaming apps, but the moment I run CoreELEC (once I do the dualboot) I donā€™t know what I can expect.

Any hints/help will appreciated.

Full passthrough (TrueHD/DTS-HD) is a standard CE feature on just about every CE supported device.

Homatics Box R Plus / Dune HD R Plus / Rocktek G2 / Nokia 8010 (s905x4-k)
Kinhank G1 (s905x4-j)
Amazon FireTV Cube 2nd gen (s922z)

All these devices have DRM support for the Android/FireOS side.

The R Plus from Dune & Homatics, Rockteck G2, Nokia 8010 are all clones, and using slight variations of the same AndroidTV firmware. The Dune HD has the benefit of including an IR receiver and SDcard slot. **The G2 includes IR receiver & sdcard slot. Not sure about Nokia, the Homatics R Plus has no IR or sdcard.

All of these boxes are from SEI, so the Homatics box has the best company support, because Homatics is SEIā€™s direct to consumer brand.

Many thanks for the quick response YadaYada.

I will probably go for the Dune HD R Plus, for aesthetics (I rather prefer black finish over the white/coppery from Homatics) and also because I would say that Dune HD has a better support, or at least is more accesible, they publish update notes and so, of course I refer to the Android TV part.

But, can I do the dual boot with the USB 3.0 port?
