Yes
As garethk1979 posted CoreELEC tool ceemmc - x through ssh communication
Minix has the 922x-j so can support dual boot
Android/CoreELEC on internal.
Then can mount SSD as storage
Or if your Router/Modem has USB Port ,can plug SSD in and add to your network nfs of smb share your media/library.
** assuming you have/had everything on SSD.
cheers all, would you advise a dual boot or single boot ? not sure if i will use android as i only bought the box for coreelec.
not sure if android is needed in the future
thanks
I do not test this Box
So i have no reccomend
Maybe another minix u22-xj user will chime in.
Happy Testing
Dual boot, single boot only saves little space & same speed.
Hi I am facing the exact issue as yourself, I tried different hdmi cables. Factory reset and tried stable CE latest build with defaults.
Each time I run a video file its running maybe 60-70% of the time fine but sometimes the screen just goes blank.
It appears very few people have this issue. I have an LG oled TV.
Did you find a fix for this issue, maybe our boxes are faulty?
Hello did you ever resolve this issue, I too have the same issue.
Sometimes when I randomly start any video file the screen goes blank.
Tried resetting it to factory settings, stable CE release with defaults. Tried different hdmi cables, emmc and sd and usb, tried media off different formats and usb and then network.
Maybe our boxes are faulty since no one else has this issue.
HDMI dropouts seem to happen more frequently now then before. Maybe placebo effect but I never used to have HDMI dropouts, but started after a November nightly.
No need to turn off TV, can also toggle the input source and it should fix it as well.
Is it normal that the OTG usb port not giving enough power to feed my portable usb hdd of 5tb? I have no problems with other ports.
Where is the OTG-port for meant?
I’ve solved the issue by buying a new one. Never got this issue anymore with the new box.
Communication with PC
Flash Firmware
Connect with USB Burning Tool
Android debug.
Should still be no probs with your drive
Usually is USB 2.0
Can check in Android with developers option enabled
USB Protocol is set to charging ?
i’ve installed coreelec via emmc (powershell). now it’s starting automatically with coreelec. how can i turn to android?
By removing CoreElec
is it possible to set to dual-boot at this point? or do i really need to delete it?
IIRC no. If you use Ugoose Firmware for dual boot (AM6_dce) instead of single boot version (AM6) then you have the option to choose which OS to boot after powering on the box.
I have no experience of this since I run all my CE installations from USB sticks…
Its certainly possible we all have faulty hardware but it feels a software glitch to me, did you give it a good proper testing, like triggering 60-80 different video files?
Since it sometimes happens with CE, and never happens with Android Kodi versions, it’s obviously not a hardware fault/problem…
thx, updated this info on my thread also. See few more people mentioning this is now more common and wide spread of an issue.
I did see the issue again twice today, but when I hit the hdmi or input button on my LG C2 remote, it didnt bring back the picture like few mentioned on here not sure why.
I had to unplug the hdmi cable and re-plug to get the picture back.
Since LG Oled panels are all 10bit try forcing 10bit UI and see if it helps.
Yup it was a good suggestion, a CE team member mentioned to try it on my thread.
It performed the best so far with 10bit, maybe 300+ playbacks till it happen again. Since its so intermitent in nature its hard to be 100% sure.
I am going to try and figure out a better testing setup, maybe 500 x 5 second test videos looped on CE or something. Its better then manually doing it with the remote and hand.
