I meant that setres.sh was not included before, it is now on v2.5 so you must be running an old version of the add-on OR it did not update correctly.

Hi@all,
Question. As there are no settings like RArch, Is there a chance to get rid of the flickering in background?! There were the vertical lines are. All other graphics are fine. But in the background this glitches flickers. System S905 - Dreamcast Emu on AddOn Version 2.5 - Game Soul Blade.

This happens more or less in other DC Games too.

There is a new version of the dreamcast emulator that works way better than the one I included, unfortunately it does not run very well on the S905.

so for now, this is as good as it gets some games works good, some of them don’t

I’m trying that this controller works in emulestation, I pair the Bluetooth controller in coreelec but after doesn’t work on ES.

Thanks for answer if anybody is using this controller and know how to do working in ES, please tell me. With my Xbox 360 with wire works perfect.

Openbor works fine fine, it has games very surprising.

Dreamcast has problems with sounds and graphics, but works correct in framerate the most of all.
I wonder know how can I do to play Amiga games and Atari st, I place the adf in the directory but doesnt work, I think it need some kind of launcher but I don’t have how to do.

In other way, can you tell me which values are you using with the overlays if you use it?

I am not using any kind of overlays/bezels, but if people are interested in that, I can start investigating how to set them up, the bezel project that was mentioned by SumavisionQ5 and farhanito seems like a good start.

The thing to consider is that it is harder to add stuff to the add-on version than it is to the standalone version, also size might be a problem, the add-on is already 200+ MB

There is already other stuff that is working on Emuelec that will never work on the add-on (or at least I don’t know how to) but I am open to any help anyone wants to provide.

Scripts that run directly from Emulationstation, (ES theme downloader, Bluetooth configuration, sselph scraper, skyscraper, drastic installation, plus any other I port) with a GUI kinda like Retropie, no need to SSH to the box, this also allows me to create more scripts and have ES run them, so it opens lot of possibilities.
Color depth does not need setres.sh because the kernel is patched.
More control in Emulationstation like ES reload, booting straight to ES or Retroarch, BGM at boot
More Emulator cores like MAME2014, Dosbox-SDL2 and I am working on ports.
Midnight commander (File manager) that runs directly from Emulationstation

Since EmuELEC does not need Kodi, I can in theory change a lot of stuff around, including the kernel without worrying that Kodi will break.

P.S. But damn I hate the name “EmuELEC” I just can’t come up with a better one

How are you pairing the controller?

I have two of these and was able to get them to work in ES (I use RetroArch myself however).

The process for pairing these is listed on the RetroPie site and this is what worked for me in ES on SX05RE:

(Removed the link because it might be confusing)

Basically, plug the controller into a USB port via USB mini cable; the controller will vibrate and buzz. Wait a few seconds, remove the cable and it will pair via Bluetooth.

That said, it would appear that at least one person has reported issues with pairing these controllers on a RPi3 with Wifi enabled (turning it off fixed that issue for them):

When used one of the previous version of Retropie (and after using qtsxia to pai…r the fake ones) I was able to pair/connect both my PS3 controllers at once and play two-player games. Each of the controllers had its MAC address as a part of name (e.g. "PLAYSTATION(R)3 Controller (00:26:5C:58:1C:72)"). One appeared as js0, the other as js1. Worked well. After installing Retropie 3.21, it looks like both controllers (one after the other) appear as js0, and their MAC address is something like 00:00:00 (could not read the address correcly?), name in retroarch-joypads .cfg is just "PLAYSTATION(R)3 Controller", resulting in inability to pair both controllers at once. Looks to me that Retroarch is not able to distinguish the controllers from one another and considers them as one identical controller. So, working well for one player (controller), but not working for 2 controllers config. Any ideas how to pair them both?

thanks for the suggestion, but I actually would rather not have the “ELEC” part on the name, as it is more relatable with Kodi.

That is the way I use it to pair the remote with the box, but doesnt work on ES, only one time works but only recognize a few controls, I have two remote of this brand and happens the same.
I plug the remote by usb to the box and after I check that bluetooth remote is on, I watch the red pilot on in “1” and go to Emulationstation and I try to configure the remote but doesnt work, I plug my xbox 360 controller wired and perfect.

I have another doubt, this is about the Atomiswave emulator, I think that is Dreamcast works almost right on a s905x the atomiswave emulator must go on on the same way.
Without make any comparison on the nvidia shield the atomiswave works right on retroarch, is it possible to use the cores and bios in sx05re??

Hello,

The v2.5 is great and my ps3 controller works perfectly from the start, without configuration.

But I have two problems with Dreamcast games:

the ps3 controller does not work,
Using another old USB-connected controller, and after the date and time selection screen, I enter another screen to manage memory card, music and settings data. But when trying to start the game, ask to insert the game disc.

So I have two questions: Can I use my ps3 control for dreamcast? and, how to start the game and overcome that screen?

Hi what game was it. Had this at multidisc games like skies of arcadia. But Games like SoulBlade or Tony Hawk works. Did you try another game or another image of the game?!
