Yeah, a switch would be nice
The Button mapping script to toggle VS10 Engine On/Off v1.1, can it turn the complete engine off to?
Ok just got home and tried the sample I did earlier and I donāt think the HDR10plus to DV conversion is working correctly. Thereās barely any visible brightness changeā¦ For reference, I just converted the metadata to DV with dovi_tool and the brightness adjustments are 5 times more visible than the ugoos conversion.
Interestingā¦ I hope @cpm is still reading this forum
Did you try to see if any of the Peak Brightness settings makes a difference?
Thanks, on this one I do see changes in brightness.
I only tested the default settings which should be the best one and the dovi_tool conversion test file is done with the same histogram setting so there shouldnt be such a huge difference between the two. Iāll ask CPM.
you mean the one with HDR10plus only ? because I do see some slight change too but nothing compared to the file converted with dovi_tool (actually im using the improved version of dovi_tool HDR10plus conversion made by @ doppingkoala, not the official one).
Ok the difference is the CPMās build histogram default that is not right IMO. Histogram-plus is much better. I thought CPM builds and @ doppingkoala dovi_tool used the same default histogram.
so, should we all change to āhistogram plusā?
yes, I think its better
Have Samsung
Always wondered if Tizen OS which is linux based open source
And Samsung HDR10+ is Dolby Vision equivalent
Also open source
If i playback Dolby Vision file ,and let Samsung internal process
There is a pause/onscreen message, please wait while system is optimized.
It only plays back as HDR10
No DV
But, DV is overrated
Also no dts.
We have Ugoos Am6b Plus CoreELEC cpm build
That us used on Samsung.
Should have explained better what iam wondering.
Many Blu-ray Rips are SDR
So use Player LED HDR setting in cpm
So all is converted playback as HDR
Was wondering if cpm conversion is different/better than letting Samsung TV internal optimized playback?
Install CPM version, solve the problem
Is there a possibility that some day these devices will be able to decode cmv4.0 metadata also in DVLL?
LLDV only supports 2.9. (UHD BD player compatibility)
If recall properly, disc based content is 2.9 anyway so youād only lose out on streaming type stuffā¦
Yes I knew it. In fact, at the moment I use internal players on my TV for 4.0 content (web dl) and CoreElec + Ugoos for FEL. My hope is to be able to use Ugoos only, at least until I have a DvLL TV
It is not clear to me, however, whether this limitation (dvll = 2.9) is insurmountable due to very specific limitations.
Thank you for the link and I tried it. Unfortunately, this is not the solution Iām interested in.
In Kodi, SystemInfo ā Video still only advertises HDR10 and HLG only, no DV nor HDR10+ so it doesnāt solve the detection problem.
I donāt want to use any tone mapping substitute, Player LED or VS10, on my system as my TV natively supports DV.
Until the detection problem is fixed on CE-NG releases, Iāll stick with CE-NE which gives me 97% satisfaction, like native HDR10+ and DV support (except FEL)
Heya! So im pretty new to this. Im coming from an Nvidia Shield Pro 2019.
My hardware/Software:
LG C2 55
Sonos Arc + Sub
FeinTech VAX04101A HDMI eARC Pass Switch 4x1 (For DTS)
Ugoos AMB6+
CoreELEC 21-ng nightly Generic
CPM bin
Content I watch:
SDR TV shows old and new
4k Remuxes with Dolby Vision
Older 1080 SDR movies also
So. Iām a bit confused, mostly about the DoVi settings. Currently, Iām using Display (TV) on demand mode. But there are options I donāt understand, and I donāt know if I should be using them. Also No idea what VS10 only means.
For example:
Dolby VSVDB
Colorimetry
Dynamic HDR10+ to Dolby Vision Profile 8.1 conversion
Well also pretty much all options below this.
I want the highest quality possible. I know some of these might be subjective, so feel free to explain why you think something is better than the other. Also, maybe there are more in-depth guides for these settings that explain more?
I did follow the guides I found here:
