Hi, does anyone have problems with CE-NG 21.2 stable? I tried it, but Kodi hangs after 10-15min Video playback and I see some kernel errors in the journal. Sometimes, after about a minute the device reboots. (Not just a Kodi restart, I see the Homatics boot logo) Kodi runs fine for hours as long I don’t play a Video. As soon as I play a video after 10-15min, it happens again.
With CE-NE I don’t have these issues. Tested with a pretty basic config, just mounted my nfs share and setup the mysql database connection. Also tried different USB sticks.
Hi frodo19, since you seem to be one “in the know”… is there now a “safe” Android 14 update to apply to the machine? I don’t use it for CE, just Android (have a separate Ugoos for CE) but the firmware situation is foggy to be optimistic…
You should wait. Currently Homatics shares V14 1782 on request. There are a few higher builds going around (zip recovery builds), you really don’t want to use. The currently “in test” 2463 build has reached Play Store approval, but still has several issues. One important fix, Sink LED, is in that build and the app blockage that is present in those leaked recovery files is also removed.
Mainly I was interested in multichannel PCM bug and quicker refresh rate switching (the box seems to change like three times before settling down). In any case, the above concerns Android so I’ll shut up.
Thanks for the info to both you and p750mmx. Much appreciated.
i am also facing some artefacts issues when playing a Dolby Vision FEL 7 Test File , i am using Dune HD HOMATICS Box R 4K Plus, with CoreELEC-Amlogic-ng.arm-21.2-Omega_nightly_20250224-Generic.img
This is only happening when fast forward or backforward video , i played large 90 gig files its not happening with them . or else generally plays well
I’m sorry, I’m not sure what I missed. Is it about the device configuration? I did a “submit Logs”, after the error happend. Of course, it’s from after the reboot, as I can’t do anything when the error occurs, so the Logs won’t contain many useful information, I guess: https://paste.coreelec.org/AcceptsEntrails
kodi.old.log is too big to upload completely, so I removed CVideoPlayer::ProcessVideoData and ::OutputPicture rows: https://paste.coreelec.org/FlunkedYanked
The last line was:
I tried to get a newer journal log, but the last two times I tried, ssh wasn’t functional anymore and persistent journal isn’t configured in CE. The device rebooted in those cases on it’s own.
I guess I will just continue using NE. Afaik I’ll only lose FEL support, but since I want to upgrade to Kodi 22 when it’s released, I will lose FEL support anyway. I just thought that maybe someone had this problem before and knows what causes it. It’s weird, that NE works flawlessly, otherwise I would have thought it might be a hardware fault.
Problem : When fast forward BE_EL.MKV DV P7 FEL Test file getting weird artifcats , but just when i play it works well . only during fast forward i am getting whole screen pixlated , going black screen for few seconds .

Hi, not sure if has been mentioned before, but I’m have trouble pairing the B21 remote. I’m on the latest 21-NG nightly and ATV14. When I try to pair the remote, CoreELEC essentially “crashes” from the bluetooth settings page back to the landing page, and the remote does not pair. Luckily my TV has CEC so I’ve been able to use that, but would like to get the Homatics remote working.
When changing the version of CE (from NE to NG, for example) - can we just copy the old dtb.img file to the newly created usb drive? Or should we redownload the fresh version of the dtb file? I tried to use the dtb file from old CE usb drive, but it didn’t work on the new one, it wouldn’t boot. Maybe it’s the usb itself, I currently don’t have another drive to try.
