Amlogic-no Discussion

For me still 20250204 is best, testing 20250215-16 and have problem that my videos stop playing after some time of playback. My tv box s905x3 (A95x air) have lcd display on front and i have lan icon on it, and i see that when video from my nas is about to be stopped and crash, that led icon on display start blinking and then it disappears and video stop playing.

Latest nightly 02/18…

Dolby Vision 4k playback…
Screen/display… is cropped to top left corner.

Seems trying to display as 4096X 2160 p
In stead of 3840X 2160p

Maybe just my setup…
User error

Dolby Vision 1080p no issues

I don’t see any issues. Kodi.log and dmesg ist need!
Also while it’s wrong: fbset | paste.
GUI scaling was dropped as it’s not need anymore, maybe a new reboot solve the issue.

Ignore, observed minor issue is skin related (estuary mod V2 is not fully compatible yet with v22)

Thanks Portisch

Went back to 02/15
Reapplied latest 02/18

All is good!!!

As usual

USER ERROR (myself)

After updating from 20250216 to 20250218 GUI does not scale when i run 4k video or just set resolution to 4k.

Gui scaling was activated before?
Enable 1080p GUI, reboot and then set 4k GUI again.

It was set “Disable GUI scaling” to “False” before update to the latest version.

I’ve tried change resolutions and reboots - the scaling bug still persist.

Please backup guisettings.xml and share with me.
Or just by cat /storage/.kodi/userdata/guisettings.xml | paste

And maybe make a backup of CE by CE settings.
So we can use this reproduce the issue.

Config with removed webserverpassword here: cat /storage/.kodi/userdata/guisettings.xml | paste
I prefer not to send my entire configuration backup. If you need specific files, please let me know and I can provide them.

edit: I did CE backup as you mentioned.

Ok, the “issue” is caused because of done video calibration with 4k GUI but with GUI scaling enabled. So “wrong” 1080p values are then stored in GUISettings.xml.

Open SSH connection and run this:
systemctl stop kodi; xmlstarlet ed -L -d "//settings/resolutions" /storage/.kodi/userdata/guisettings.xml; systemctl start kodi;

Video calibration will be removed but Kodi show up normal.
So adjust again the video calibration afterwards when need.

This is great news. Thank you very much for your help. I will try to test it today evening or at saturday.

edit: Your shell script did the trick. Thx a lot.

Small bug: bad timezone for central Europe on CE22NO with set country Slovakia (in winter time it now showed in coreelec wrong extra 1 hour back). For comparation on CE21NG is it ok.

All member states switch to summer time on the last Sunday in March and back to their standard time (‘winter time’) on the last Sunday in October.

Here are parameters for amlogic decoders and 1 avc encoder which was detected in android (vp6, vp8, rm10,rm20, rm30, rm40 and wmv1 are only sw also through amlogic “pipe” of android) on device am6plus.

mesondisplay.cfg (431 Bytes)
media_profiles.xml (6.8 KB)
media_profiles_V1_0.xml (8.2 KB)
media_codecs.xml (12.3 KB)
media_codecs_performance.xml (5.9 KB)
media_codecs_ext.xml (7.5 KB)

…maybe it help for understanding that why some videos not going on CE22NO, which was ok on CE21NG.

I believe zone settings in kodi have moved around in the gui, now set on 2 places. At least, that’s what fixed it on one of my test devices (setting change on one of the locations)

Edit check both coreelec-system and interface-regional

Coreelec-system is not user friendly place for old user of CE. But it works well. Thank you

Team Kodi removed the region settings.
So it’s auto detected now by CE settings.
Maybe it’s wrong as it uses the provider location.

In my case, the settings in the CE settings section were empty initially after this changed. Resulted in being one hour behind.

yes, also in my case was this empty
