I had a image ready, deleted it because you removed the post. Will take a look later these days as we are currently searching another issue.
Thank you.
I deleted my earlier post because i thought I should rule out all other variables first.
I did now ;).
Sry about that and thanks for looking into this !
Regards Atreyu
You have any idea when it stopped working?
Last changes about this driver is long behind:
https://github.com/CoreELEC/CoreELEC/commits/coreelec-19/packages/linux-drivers/RTL8812AU/
Also maybe post a debug log:
I have only a few nightly images what you can try back. There was no back done before:
Yes, directly after updating to latest nightly.
I am on the move now,but I will produce necessary info when I am back (which should be tomorrow).
20210210?
So 20210207 was working?
I think Iāve found the reason for this skipping issue now after some testing. It happens if I use 10 B-frames in the encode, 8 B-frames seemed to be fine.
Looking at the player debug info while testing, the a/v value was somewhat higher with 10 B-frames (as they do increase latency) and it looks like Kodi skipped a frame if it exceeded 100 ms or something like that. And as mentioned, it only affects HW decoding on my Odroid N2, software decoding is fine.
Is this something that should be reported to the Kodi devs or strictly related to the amlogic-ng stuff?
You can test with these two files.
This one works: https://drive.google.com/file/d/11gmGdfOx95KE4xnZGE0SniI0BGhWxmvX/view?usp=sharing

Please try these two images:

thank you
Yes, the 07 nightly worked.

and this le_0205_wp: http://ix.io/2Pqj working
Can you try multible reboot? Maybe itās a timing issue.
And if it works every time please try this image again also with multiple reboot if is working or not:
no, its doesnāt working every time reboot http://ix.io/2PrF
but this every time working http://ix.io/2PrK
If I understand correctly, you are experimenting with toolchains, can you try this one?
https://www.linaro.org/downloads/?
But currently, update channel is set to ānoneā and only available channel seems to be āCoreELEC 9.0ā. Seems not to be ok!?
@as_id please try this new image (kernel_overlay):

EDIT:
and please run lsmod|paste
once when itās working and also if it is not working.
Ok, but I can only in the evening, after 22:00 Moscow time
can you please make one dmesg|paste
with 20210207 and one with 20210210, thank you.
NFS worked fine with early Matrix builds. Then at some point it broke after update. Videos play with heavy framedrop even on low bitrates (looks like a some kind of buffer underrun) but audio is OK. Samba works fine, but my library is on NFS and I donāt like the idea of recreating it.
I can confirm this skip frames on one box, and it works on anotherā¦
I will check later this week if I have a patch for it.
@Portisch I have tested again on a different machine (N2) with the latest nightly.
I seem to be unable to reproduce the issue on a fresh machine/fresh install.
It might be hardware related, i think this can be dropped. And sorry for the apparant false alarmā¦
Same here, but on a non-official S905X3. TV recordings played via NFS randomly have some missing frames (black screen for 2-3 seconds), but audio is still working.
Let us know what TV youāre using. Iām having the same problem with a TCL 43S425, but not with Samsung or LG TVs. Both Odroid N2 and C4 skip with 2-3 second blank periods, just as you describe. I think itās TV specific.
