I get 220mb but nfs/smb is a mystery, i use the same sdcard in the Minix so same settings, i think is rev d of s905x4 is too weak, does anyone use nfs/smb here?
Does anyone have a dtb file for nightly NE with working wifi and bt? (rev d)
Thx
This DTB works on my Kinhank
Ethernet
Wifi
Bluetooth
Dovi .ko does not
I have older board from image i posted
Looks like 2402xxxxx…
V2 2021 04 25 stamped on board.
Maybe version is a factor as compared to serial #
Image from hungphutho shows serial 2406xxx
V3 2021 08 11
So i have working DTB
Still issue with dovi.ko
Dovi file from August
Dovi file from September
Both load
Black Screen
I do get a message that DTB is out of date
Please update
Idk the reason that cause a black screen on DV playback with your setup.
have you checked android HDR settings like (adaptive HDR and DV priority)
And try to use the basic skin with default settings under CE. (Are the DV options available on CE menu? TV LED- player LED)
Another option is to upgrade on some blocked CE forks (A12) > which I also use, and it works.
As for the outdated dtb massage, see if it helps and try to (remove dtb.xml to remove old settings)
You can try this:
You can get the uart cable cheaper on aliexpress
just add this item when you order the Kinhank G1
get the
: CP2102 Red
second option for $1.56 (pre tax)
It’s good (cheap) insurance to make sure you can get it to load CoreELEC
Wait for the next discount in probably 2 weeks. also got Chinese new year coming up, might get good sales then too. Should be able to pick this up for under $50 (pre tax)
(if you want to order the uart separately then use this seller
($1.39 pre tax, add 3 choice items for free shipping)
A post was merged into an existing topic: Help, support CPM build
I have tried to get smb working but it was always throwing the invalid argument error so I gave up and used the UPnP Kodi share from my PC and that works fine.
Also, I did have issues with WiFi playback when I used the latest nightly.
That is weird. I thought the dovi.ko file is the same for all S905X4 boxes regardless of the brand or the chip revision etc. Is that not the case?
Here is:
Ok
Thx for suggestions
I wrote this box off long ago
Once update was forced…
I liked the challenge of trying to downgrade bootloader with testpoint/u-art .
Iam not going to put much more effort into this box.(maybe on the weekend again) lol
Iam wondering if i need bootloader from original firmware from my V2 board
To revive i used bootloader from hungphutho
Which is V3 board…
I have two boxes, #
- old version is with GB LAN, Serial starts with 24200xxx.
- the new one without GB LAN chip has SN beginning with 24600xxx.
Different dtbs needed, othervise all the same (ATV image, dovi.do, remote config file…)
When you say dtb is working, does that mean all the connectivity such as WiFi, BT, and Ethernet are working fine? If so, then the issue with dovi.ko might not have anything to do with the bootloader image I guess?
I’ve asked hdmkv over at Kodi official forums to include the Kinhank G1 as part of the boxes that run KODI
I basically made an outline of everyone who helped get the KinHank G1 working
https://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=376035&pid=3219208#pid3219208
I thought to share here in case anyone new wanted to quickly have a rundown of what to do if they buy a Kinhank G1
Thanks to Sholander , tasmansaroha
and special thanks to hungphutho
great work guys
EDIR, made a start guide here
It’s the WiFi, my advice return if its 100m version, don’t know about 1gb version but on this have to Reboot several times to get WiFi working, & playing high bitrate remux(use oppenheimer dv version as test) is almost impossible as wifi fluctuates & 100m is not gonna cut it.
Has anyone used a pair of BT headphones/earbuds with this box on CE? From my testing, regardless of the source audio format(DD, THD, DTS), the BT audio seems to be pretty low in both volume and quality. Increasing the volume through Volume amplification is just distorting the output. I haven’t tested on Android yet.
It would be great if anyone can test this on their box.
To circumvent this issue, I tried to connect my BT headphones directly with my TV but there is another longstanding issue on that front again.
I’ve created another topic for that and I would appreciate if anyone can help me with that one over there: Dolby Vision out of sync through HDMI with Bluetooth audio connected to LG OLED TV
With 1Gbit Ethernet, it’s pretty stable even for FF & RW of high bitrate DV. WiFi is sort of a hit or miss, sometimes unusable with FF & RW.
For the boxes with 100M Ethernet, USB playback is the only stable option I guess.
No, it’s one of the options; the other, and better, option is an “USB3.0 to Ethernet” adapter. With an adequate adapter transfer speeds rise to 250-300 Mbit/s which is more than enough
