Thanks, looks like this would do. Need to test it when I get home

CE-22-20241213 and later versions, DTS: X audio cannot be directly downgraded to DTS, and only 6 channels are available for viewing player information

Hey Portisch, just to be sure, what do you mean with “There is nothing for users to adjust” ? Does it mean:

  • disable the cache?
  • use the default values of the cache? If yes, what are the default settings?
  • does not matter what you choose, since the new experimental feature will ignore user settings related to cache anyway?
  • something else?

In “Player process info” is too long Czech translation “FormĂĄt obrazovĂ©ho bodu” so I cannot see wanted information. I was looking to latest KODI Nightly on my PC and this information is not there, so I assume it is Coreelec feature isn’t it?

Yes, its not designed to so long translation. Need add to scroll for that value.
What box is that, cos empty cpu frequency?

Ok, weird.

You are not the only one. It happens since the end of November both in NO and NE on my TOX3. So we have a “3 family 3 branches OS” (to the developers probably time eating) vehicle with tons of features but no normal playback of simple material which seems one of the primary functions. I connected my old heavily modified Wetek Hub with antique Coreelec 9.2.8 and play the same x265 1080p files without any issue. Now I am just a “power on - play file - power off” end user that likes a lightweight OS having maximum possible performance of the hardware and nothing more but things are definitely not as they used to be. It feels that the software is catering for too many devices, setups, scenarios and every possible new technical doohdah. A comparison with Windows OS comes to mind.

You can’t stop progress

In slovak language is shortly: “formát bodu”. Change czech translation to this slovak form. Problem after solved.

I am using NE on my TOX3 with no apparent issues atm.

Try some x265 1080p files. It is not always but quite often jerky playback is noticed. From USB it is worst.

The playback issues appeared after the November 26th nightly. I don’t remember exactly but I think there was quite a lot of a/v sync related changes happening there so they are the probable reason. It’s also likely that the issue is something which happens only on certain systems and setups. Basically it seems to be skipping frames when it doesn’t need to. I’ll try the Nov 26th nightly on CE22-no later to confirm if it works properly - like it works on CE21-ne.

I will add some debug prints about the a/v sync in the next nightly to see what the case could be.

Tried 2 files, both OK, no jerky or frame skipping. On my Tox3 NE 20241231
Both files from my windows network with upnp.

issue
on latest nightly build 20250102
interlaced media with 25 FPS not playing only freezing image
here’s a sample 1080i-25-H264.mkv - Google Drive
kodi log
kodi.log (301.7 KB)

Try first on a clean install on spare media again.

after clean install the issue still present
kodi.log (682.1 KB)

Since 20250102 there is a extra A/V sync debug print included.
So if someone trigger “skipping” of frames enable kodi debug logging and also component video + audio/video timing component!
Only Kodi.log is useful than.
