Amlogic-NO discussion

Maybe add a log?

I run NO CoreELEC 22.0-Piers (Sep 29) on GT-King g12b_s922x_beelink_gt_king and live streaming of ‘VRT-MAX’ and ‘Retrospect ‘NPO Start’’ stalls after short time.

info : CVideoPlayerAudio::Process - stream stalled

I almost never watch live TV so I don’t know if this got introduced recently.

On some other devices I run NE CoreELEC 21.2-Omega (January 19th, 2025) and these devices do not experience same.

Also : rewatching (not live) video on 22.0-Piers does not experience problems.

Here some output that may help

GT-King:~ # dmesg | paste

https://paste.coreelec.org/GigglingSampson

last stream stalled had debug logging on

GT-King:~ # cat .kodi/temp/kodi.log | paste

https://paste.coreelec.org/LittleMaine

GT-King:~ # find /sys -name “buf_num” -print -exec cat “{}” ; | paste

https://paste.coreelec.org/SniperMalucci

I tried to increase various buf_num up to 32 but always stalled.

Thanks for attention and thanks + congratulations for bringing CE to us.

For me settings dont stick, for cec or for resolution. After couple of reboots resolution is back to default 1080p and cec settings for Wake-Up are all checked but i perfere to un-check them

You said you cut power. This is the worst you can do as you kill your boot media and items not saved are lost - also CEC settings. Also it’s possible you kill your settings at all when power is cut while it’s writing to media…

But all this is all guessing because we have no idea if you have now a clean, fresh install WITHOUT restore anything from old systems backup nor any log to specific problems.

When did i say that i cut power? I power of device normal way, using power button on remote or i use menu on kodi. I only cut power when and if device get frozen

Ps

Right now i have install with restore settings, but when i catch time ill make new clean install, maybe even today, when i come home from work

I didn’t see anything CEC-related in the log, nothing different from the builds where it worked. Maybe it requires some specific logs, but I don’t see any interest in the issue; it’s probably not considered worthy of attention. So I just downgraded to 20250917, which works almost flawlessly for me. CEC is working as expected, AFR works, Trakt add-on, which stopped working around 20250924, works as well. Also, the selection bar stopped jumping to the top of the list after playback is finished (the issue that also appeared around 20250924). There’s a small issue with the video playback, which sometimes gets a bit choppy for no reason, but restarting the playback fixes that immediately, so it’s a small trade-off. Maybe I just need to roll back further, before all those buffer experiments or whatever.

But if there’s interest on fixing those issues, I guess I could update again and provide the necessary logs (although someone needs to tell me which ones).

Restoring old backups between major version numbers is always a bad idea if you ask me (but you didn’t :wink: )

And this is your issue!

As expected, running clean install did not make any difference regarding cec and resolution reseting

Sorry it took a while. Here is a log taken right after playing a HDR movie for a few seconds (Odroid N2), and the screen is very messed up. Using current NO build (20250930);

https://paste.coreelec.org/DevelopsFinesse

I start playing the movie here;

2025-10-02 00:30:51.455 T:921 debug : OnPlayMedia /var/media/CORSAIR/Jurassic.World.Rebirth.2025.HDR.2160p

HDR seems broken as of 20250913 build onwards.
UPDATE: 1080p HDR plays fine, but 4K HDR gives the problems shown here.

Yes ,same here on N2, Back to NO build (20250910), no this issues

Still working OK for me , I’m now on 20251002

Tox3 S905x4

Seems not about HDR, 1080P OK, 4K NG.

I would be delighted if BT pairing worked automatically in CE, as it does with ATV. That would be great. At the moment, this is not the case; you have to do it via IR remote or manually with wirelles Mouse.

Is it an issue in NO ? Does it work in NG?

Few months back I did work on such solution to auto pair any BT device which is Human Interface Device. It actually worked very well but it’s not in a shape to be actually used.

Maybe one day …
