We maybe identified the reason:

But it’s strange as this should not affect our project as we use another linux package for Amlogic-ce…

@as_id please can you confirm this image is working?
(last nightly without ir patch):
https://mega.nz/file/PeRgCB5S#SklzfabGLU8jpTedgBiOXx3qRpcBfykv4xTYpmsTeCs

As my 18.9 on an Odroid C2 has massive issues with EPG using TVH as backend, I’ve installed nightly 19.0 on a cheap Tanix TX3 (S905X3). Seems fine so far.
My question is: will these release candidates also self-update automatically? Also when RC1 gets stable? Or will I have to update (i.e. re-install) manually when CE19 reaches stable?

No, it does not working http://ix.io/2PnL

Last working build was here CoreELEC 19 Matrix Discussion (Kodi RC1)

Yes.
Updating to stable is available as an option in settings

Gave up on the wifi adapter below.
Worked perfectly fine before most current nightly, but will not function stable anymore directly after updating.

Realtek Semiconductor Corp. RTL8812AU

Is there any changes in current nightly that might explain the erroneous behaviour …?

I had a image ready, deleted it because you removed the post. Will take a look later these days as we are currently searching another issue.

Thank you.
I deleted my earlier post because i thought I should rule out all other variables first.
I did now ;).
Sry about that  and thanks for looking into this !

Regards Atreyu

You have any idea when it stopped working?
Last changes about this driver is long behind:
https://github.com/CoreELEC/CoreELEC/commits/coreelec-19/packages/linux-drivers/RTL8812AU/

Also maybe post a debug log:

I have only a few nightly images what you can try back. There was no back done before:

Yes, directly after updating to latest nightly.
I am on the move now,but I will produce necessary info when I am back (which should be tomorrow).

20210210?

So 20210207 was working?

I think I’ve found the reason for this skipping issue now after some testing. It happens if I use 10 B-frames in the encode, 8 B-frames seemed to be fine.

Looking at the player debug info while testing, the a/v value was somewhat higher with 10 B-frames (as they do increase latency) and it looks like Kodi skipped a frame if it exceeded 100 ms or something like that. And as mentioned, it only affects HW decoding on my Odroid N2, software decoding is fine.

Is this something that should be reported to the Kodi devs or strictly related to the amlogic-ng stuff?

You can test with these two files.
