Homatics Box R 4K Plus

Don’t know what the reason is, now the CE has canceled the reboot to android function. incredible

it wasn’t cancelled, it’s a bug in CE-NG on some s905x4 devices. Most of the s905x4 development time and bug fixes were spent on CE-NE.

What is better between CE-NE or CE-NG?

With CE-NG you get Dolby Vision P7 FEL support, with CE-NE, you don’t:

I was wondering if by now there’s a trick to getting the homatics remote’s bluetooth connection to survive a reboot. Any time I reboot to CE from android I need to re-pair the remote

Yes, use a BT USB dongle!

Issue should be solved with nightly 20241015.

I got the same issue Joe has with his Dune device. I have Ugoos X4Q Extra (S905X4-J). Nightly [20241015] doesn’t seem to fix the stuttering issues with DV FEL files. When I switch DV settings from lossless to MEL manually on Omega 21.1.1 the FEL files are running smoothly. Too bad this option was removed on nightly builds.

Which version of CE are you using? If you want to convert FEL you can just use NE and select the convert DV option.

NE Nightly or stable? I was using NG for both, nightly and stable. NE doesn’t seem to have DV working in my case (I’m getting error on CE startup saying something about kernel being incompatible with DV). NG Nightly doesn’t have the option for converting DV anymore. NG Stable is running just fine.

I don’t have issues here

What TV Box do you use?

I got the CoreElec to work on my Dune Homatics Box. But now I’m not able to get the dovi file to work. I’m not showing DV under the CoreElec settings to show.

Read the forum, you miss the dovi.ko.

I put it in the main part of the usb. Then saw it needs to go into the storage folder, so I moved it there.

Go here:

Download the one next to “s905x4”

Put dovi.ko in the same directory as dtb.img file.

You need to make sure you are using a nightly NG build.

That’s what I originally did. And it didn’t work. Then I saw where it said to put the dovi file in the storage folder, so I tried it and it didn’t work either. Unless the new version doesn’t show the DV option in the CoreElec section of the program anymore.

Did you get the right dovi.ko? The one that corresponds to S904x4

Also panel needs to be DV capable for options to show, you won’t see anything on a PC monitor.

Yeah I got the right file.

I’m using it on a 85” TCL QM851G. It’s DV capable.

First time posting on this forum. Below is the issue I am facing and can’t find much info on this topic.

My video chain is as follow:

Homatics Box R 4k Plus → Sony XBR Z9F TV via HDMI input

Corelelec version: CoreELEC-Amlogic-ne.aarch64-21.1.1-Omega-Generic(1).img

I have use a USB drive to get Coreelec booting up and working fine.

However when I try to play a test video from the Kodi samples pages (Link: 1 minute HDR10+ system test - FF Pictures GmbH | Florian Friedrich), I do not get the required fps

Pressing the O button on the keyboard shows me that the video is being HW decoded and my TV supports the resolution. But still the fps is very low.
I have tried playing other supported formats with the same issue.

To troubleshoot I replaced the Homatics box with a fire stick 4k max running kodi v21 and the issue is resolved.
I also loaded libreelec 12 on my 10 year old AMD laptop and everything works fine.

Then I tried loading libreelec 12 on my RPI 4B model and I get the same issue as the Homatics running Coreelec. Weird, see pics below
Any suggestions?
